LUNCHEONS FOR ROTARY MEMBERS PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR PEOPLE OF ACTION TO COME TOGETHER TO STRENGTHEN THEIR CONNECTIONS TO FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO IMPROVING LIVES.LUNCHEONS ALSO PROMOTE SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES WHICH ALLOW MEMBERS TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO OTHERS, PROMOTING INTEGRITY, AND ADVANCING WORLD UNDERSTANDING, GOODWILL, AND PEACE THROUGH OUR FELLOWSHIP OF BUSINESS, PROFESSIONAL, AND COMMUNITY LEADERS.DURING LUNCHEONS WE ALSO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPOTLIGHT MEMBERS AND THEIR WORK TO BUILD A WORLD WHERE PEOPLE UNITE AND TAKE ACTION TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE.

PRODUCTION OF THE PITTSBURGH ROTARY CLUB NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTING THE MANY ROTARY PROGRAMS THAT ARE DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS, PROVIDING FUNDING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, AND MAKING PEACE A PRIORITY; INFORMATION ON OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL SERVICE PROGRAMS; AND RECOGNITION OF MEMBERS FOR SERVICE ACTIVITIES.

ADMINISTRATION OF THE PITTSBURGH ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION AND THE CHUCK TANNER AWARDS BANQUET. THE PITTSBURGH ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION IS A RELATED ORGANIZATION WHICH ATTEMPTS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE BY PROVIDING GRANTS FOR WORTHY PROJECTS AND EDUCATIONAL AWARDS TO SCHOLARS PRIMARILY WITHIN THE PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY.THE CHUCK TANNER AWARDS BANQUET IS A CHARITABLE EVENT WITH PROCEEDS BENEFITING THE ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION. THE CHUCK TANNER AWARDS ARE AWARDED TO HONOREES WHOSE WORKEXEMPLIFIES THE VALUES THAT MADE CHUCK TANNER A BELOVED MANAGER. A NATIVE OF NEW CASTLE, PENNSYLVANIA, CHUCK TANNER'S BASEBALL CAREER SPANNED 60 YEARS WITH EIGHT YEARS AS A PLAYER AND 19 YEARS AS A MAJOR LEAGUE MANAGER. MANAGING THE PITTSBURGH PIRATES FROM 1977 THROUGH 1985, TANNER IS REVERED AS AN OPTIMISTIC LEADER WHO INSTILLED CONFIDENCE AND INSPIRED HIS PLAYERS.
