Organizations Filed Purposes: THE BRADFORD COUNTY REGIONAL ARTS COUNCIL IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO BUILDING AND SUPPORTING A THRIVING REGIONAL ARTS COMMUNITY BY: A) ADVOCATING FOR THE ARTS; B) CULTIVATING QUALITY ARTS PROGRAMMING; AND C) PRESERVING BRADFORD COUNTY'S HISTORIC THEATERS AS VENUES FOR PERFORMANCES, COMMUNITY EVENTS, AND MOVIES.

LIVE PERFORMANCES AND FILM PRESENTATION (INCLUDES REGRANTING TO OTHERS FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES): THE BCRAC PRESENTS LIVE PERFORMANCES IN ITS HISTORIC THEATRES THROUGH THE YOUTH SERIES, THE NIGHTLIFE ON THE SUSQUEHANNA SERIES AND NUMEROUS STAND-ALONE SHOWS. FILMS ARE PRESENTED DAILY IN THE HISTORIC THEATRES AS WELL. BASED ON TICKET SALES IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THIS PROGRAM DIRECTLY SERVES 105,000 PEOPLE YEARLY. THE BCRAC WORKS WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA COUNCIL ON THE ARTS TO FAIRLY DISTRIBUTE STATE FUNDS TO ARTS ORGANIZATIONS WHO CONTINUED ON SCH O PROVIDE FESTIVALS, LIVE PERFORMANCES AND OTHER ARTS PRESENTATIONS. WHILE NOT DIRECTLY SERVING PEOPLE WHO ENJOY THESE EVENTS, THIS PROGRAM INDIRECTLY SERVES AN ESTIMATED 55,000 PEOPLE FROM THE WIDER REGION. WHILE THE INITIAL RESTORATION OF THE THREE BCRAC HISTORIC THEATRE ARE COMPLETE, THERE IS ON-GOING CAPITAL EXPENDITURES AND MAINTENANCE REQUIRED BY THESE WONDERFUL HUNDRED YEAR OLD ARTS FACILITIES. IN ADDITION TO THE LIVE PERFORMANCE AND FILM AUDIENCES, THE HISTORIC THEATRE ARE ANCHOR TENANTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES, HELPING WITH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, EMPLOYMENT AND TOURISM. DURING CURRENT YEAR, ALL THREE THEATERS UPGRADED THEIR MOVIE PROJECTION FACILITIES TO STATE OF THE ART DIGITAL PROJECTION.

ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (INCLUDES MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE RESIDENCIES): THE BCRAC HAS RECEIVED NATIONAL AND STATE AWARDS FOR ITS ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM. TYPICALLY, ARTISTS ARE FUNDED TO PERFORM RESIDENCY WORK WITH SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO NOT ONLY BRING THE ARTS TO PEOPLE BUT TO HELP THEM LEARN SKILLS IN ALTERNATIVE WAYS. BASED ON AVERAGE RESIDENCY NUMBERS, IT IS ESTIMATED THAT OVER 900 STUDENTS RECEIVE DIRECT INTENSE ARTS EXPERIENCES DURING THE MULTIPLE DAY RESIDENCIES. CONTINUED ON SCH O. INDIRECTLY ANOTHER 3,200 CHILDREN AND ADULTS ARE EXPOSED TO THE ARTISTS THROUGH GROUP PERFORMANCES. MANY OF THESE STUDENTS WOULD NOT BE EXPOSED TO QUALITY ARTS ACTIVITIES WITHOUT THE BCRAC ARTS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM.
