Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide the employees of USLI the opportunity to request donations to be made to charities and causes to which they have a direct, personal connection, and to serve as a portal for funds raised from USLI employees and customers to support a broad range of charitable causes and organizations.
Donations to 63 causes suggested by members of the USLI Community, ranging from medical support for critically ill children to support for individuals and teams participating in fundraising events to support for community and outreach organizations such as animal shelters, counseling centers, domestic violence centers, and feeding programs. All donations range from $250 to $1,000 per cause. Nine of the causes were specific assistance to individuals: five distributions to assist medical patients with their medical or other expenses, two distributions to assist a family with funeral expenses after an unexpected death, and two distributions for emergency expenses after a fire severely damaged a home.
Donations of funds raised from USLI employees, clients and customers for disaster relief and in support of charitable causes including breast cancer education and research; scholarship and tuition support for under served urban students; malaria prevention; clean drinking water for Haitians; Toys for Tots; and salary and infrastructure support for an urban farm.
In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, CARE2 Fund at USLI Inc entered into a partnership with 12th Street Catering to provide free meals to people impacted by the crisis. The CARE2 Fund at USLI Inc contributed $487,500 to provide 133,500 free boxed meals to front line healthcare workers at Philadelphia area hospitals, and $360,000 to provide 70,520 boxed meals free of charge distributed to under served families in Philadelphia by Urban Creators, a 501(c)3 urban farm.
