SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO PREVENT THE USE OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL: COMBINATION OF STUDENT 1:1 & GROUP SUPPORT (SAP) PREVENTION EDUCATION CLASSROOM PROGRAMMING AND LARGE GROUP PRESENTATIONS. PROGRAMMING IS K-12 AND FOCUSES ON DRUG AND ALCOHOL PREVENTION/ INTERVENTION, SOCIAL SKILL BUILDING GROUPS, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING PROGRAMMING AND HEALTHY LIVING CHOICES. PROGRAM GOALS ARE TO PROMOTE POSITIVE DECISIONS AND HEALTHY LIVING. STUDENT PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE A PRE AND POST TEST SURVEY TO ASSESS PROGRAM IMPACT. OVER 5,000 STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM AGENCY PREVENTION AND SAP PROGRAMMING EACH YEAR. THE AGENCY CURRENTLY PROVIDES PREVENTION EDUCATION IN 7 PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND ONE PAROCHIAL IN EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY.
COUNSELING PROGRAMS ON A SLIDING SCALE FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND DRUG AND ALCOHOL INTERVENTION SERVICES: AGENCY- BASED COUNSELING SERVICES: INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY, MARITAL AND PLAY THERAPY PROVIDED. CLIENTS ARE BOTH MANDATED AND VOLUNTARY. AGENCY ALSO PROVIDES MANDATED COUNSELING FOR DUI CHARGES FOR ADULTS, UNDERAGE DRINKING CITATIONS AND RETAIL THEFT FOR TEENS AND ADULT PROBATION REFERRALS AND OTHER CITATIONS. AGENCY IS ABLE TO OFFER A SLIDING FEE SCALE TO AREA RESIDENTS. THE AGENCY ALSO PROVIDES INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES AS WELL AS CRISIS INTERVENTION AT NO CHARGE. PARENTING EDUCATION AND ANGER MANAGEMENT IS ALSO PROVIDED. COUNTY FUNDED DRUG AND ALCOHOL INTERVENTION SERVICES RELATED TO YOUTH MARIJUANA, YOUTH UNDERAGE DRINKING, AND VAPING ALSO AVAILABLE. OVER 675 HOURS OF AGENCY-BASED COUNSELING PROVIDED TO AREA RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
