Organizations Filed Purposes:
We strive to come alongside families to introduce lasting solutions to hunger, poverty, and generational trauma, by providing malnutrition services and sustainability programs.
Our inpatient malnutrition program exists to provide temporary yet emergent medical care for children who are affected by severe acute malnutrition. Children who meet the standards of severe acute malnutrition are treated by qualified medical staff following the Plumpy Nut treatment plan. They are also treated for general health concerns that are prevalent in children with malnutrition. Children are treated on an inpatient basis, often with continuing care through outpatient services. 54 children were treated during 2020. Caregivers are given accommodation at the recovery center as their child heals from malnutrition, transportation assistant to attend appointments and all parents/caregivers undergo health and nutrition workshops, bible study and have both mental health and social work services. We also have a school sponsorship program and a family support program for families in need. 52 families were supported during 2020.
