Organizations Filed Purposes: Promote and preserve the history and culture of Minnesota lake life through interpretive exhibits, educational programs, collections management, and special events.

4,372 guests visited the museum and gardens in 2019 guests hailed from 198 Minnesota towns, 43 states and 12 countries. We offered 21 educational programs and activities that served 170 adults and children. We opened two temporary exhibits Charles BeckLakes Region Landscapes and Golden Age Race Boats. Four semi-permanent exhibits were maintained, topics included the Alexandria Boat Works Grand Hotels and Resorts on Minnesota Lakes, the history of fishing and fishing guides fiberglass boats and kit boats. The museum acquired a Naphtha launch, believed to be one of two remaining in the United States. Over 1,600 people attended three special events The Antique and Class Boat Show and two Music in the Gardens concerts, which are open to the publc at no fee. The Boathouse served as a gathering place for community events and fund-raisers, families celebrating special occasions, and businesses.
