Organizations Filed Purposes: TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL. PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE: THE YMCA OF AUSTIN, MN IS A CHARITABLE, COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION THAT INCLUDES MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, ABILITIES, INCOMES, RACES AND RELIGIONS. WE WORK TOWARDS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY BY PUTTING CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVESYLES, STRONG VALUES, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY INTERACTION, AND INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING. ALL PERSONS ARE WELCOME AT OUR YMCA, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. OUR YMCA IS FOUNDED AND LED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM OUR COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS ALSO SERVE AS ADVISORS, MENTORS, COACHES, PROGRAM LEADERS, INSTRUCTORS AND MORE.

MISSION: TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO ALL PROGRAMS ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES WHICH ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND HELP STRENGTHEN ALL FAMILIES. YMCAS OFFER A WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE WHERE MEMBERS FEEL COMFORTABLE, BUILD LASTING RELATIONSHIPS, AND PURSUE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. MEMBERS RECEIVE THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, AND PHYSICAL HEALTH, PLUS DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM AND SELF-CONFIDENCE. SERVICES ARE OFFERED AT AFFORDABLE FEES FOR THE COMMUNITY AT-LARGE, WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE FULL FEE. THE YMCA SERVED APPROXIMATELY 7,000 MEMBERS IN 2018-19.

YOUTH PROGRAMS FOR AGES 6-17 ARE PART OF THE YMCA'S OVERALL GOAL OF BUILDING A HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. THE YMCA PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH WHICH SHAPE CHARACTER AND ENCOURAGE LIFELONG COMMUNITY SERVICE. YMCA PROGRAMS GIVE KIDS GOOD ROLE MODELS. TO HELP THEM DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM AND GOOD VALUES, INCLUDING COOPERATION, RESPECT, GOOD CITIZENSHIP, AND A STRONG WORK ETHIC. OUR YMCA PROVIDES HIGH QUALITY CHILD CARE. BY PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN THAT HELPS RELIEVE THE BURDEN OF BALANCING WORK AND FAMILY, MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR THE PARENTS TO REMAIN GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, KNOWING THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE THRIVING IN A SAFE, DEVELOPMENTALLY SOUND ENVIRONMENT.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR AGES 3-5 HELP PREPARE CHILDREN FOR A SUCCESSFUL ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE PLUS PROVIDE THEM WITH CHALLENGES THAT PROMOTE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS, MENTAL DEVELOPMENT, PHYSICAL WELL BEING, SOCIAL GROWTH, AND SELF-RESPECT. YMCA YOUTH PROGRAMS HELP CHILDREN DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES, TO RECOGNIZE THE VALUE OF COOPERATION, AND TO GAIN CONFIDENCE. THE YMCA ALSO PROVIDES A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT EMPHASIZE PARENT EDUCATION AND HELP PARENTS LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO RAISE HEALTHY, HAPPY CHILDREN WHO DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM AND MORAL AND ETHICAL VALUES.
