Organizations Filed Purposes: PROVIDING SPORTS PROGRAMS AND SPORTS EDUCATION FOR YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES. AKA SPORT'S MISSION IS TO GET KIDS MORE ACTIVE THROUGH SPORT AND EXERCISE BY CREATING AND OFFERING SPORTS PROGRAMS AND HEALTHY OPPORTUNITIES.

AKA ALL SPORTS CAMP IS A MULTI-SPORT SUMMER DAY CAMP THAT FEATURES A DIFFERENT SPORT AND FIELD TRIP EACH WEEK. KIDS PARTICIPATE IN A DAY OF SPORTS, EXERCISE, AND HEALTH FITNESS WITH FRIENDS AND COACHES. DAYS INCLUDE: FOCUSED SPORT PLAY; FREE PLAY; LUNCH; READING; AND RELAXING.AKA CAMPSIn 2019, AKASPORTs 15th anniversary year, we expanded to serve significantly more active kids and families in the Twin Cities metro. Our featured AKA All Sports Summer Camp doubled in size from the previous year as we added two new locations. In addition to the Blaine National Sports Center and Circle Pines - Centennial High School and surrounding communities, we added in 2019, the City of Hopkins Pavilion and Ramseys Adrenaline Sports Center and surrounding communities. In doing so, we saw an increase of over 81% in our summer programs to help kids stay active and fit and parents continue getting to work, worry free. Our AKA Charitable reach is providing more assistance to families and schools as well. We donated $3,250 to various sport clubs, public school initiatives and foundations and through our Fall Giving Project we were proud to deliver a check for $1,000 to Jenny Lind Elementarys physical education department (Mpls. Public Schools) in north Minneapolis. And we continued in organizing our 4th Winter Coat and Sports Gear drive for those in need. All of this has proven positive for influencing active lifestyles and positive social, physical and educational characteristics in so many kids. AKASPORT and AKA Charitable outreach would not be successful without our amazing staff, volunteers and program partners.

AKA SCHOOL PROGRAMMINGAKA Sport after school multi-sport programming offers after school programming for schools looking to add to their extended programs a physical education component. AKA sport provides introductory classes for many sports. The goal is to provide students with a look at exciting sports that they may not get much exposure to at school. Just as well, we saw an increase in student participation in our After School program across 4 major public school districts. We take great pride in serving roughly 270 kids in the crucial after school hours, hours that often go unsupervised for pre-teens and teens. In the fall of 2019, we brought on our first AKA After School Director to oversee the growth and developments of this crucial division of AKA Sport.

AKA SEASONAL PROGRAMSIn an effort to expand beyond the Summer Camp and After School Programs, we added AKA Seasonal Programs. Programs such as the AKA Outdoors initiative and Holiday Break Days, AKA Seasonal programs provide additional outlets for working families, including parents and relatives, to take part in year round active programming.
