Organizations Filed Purposes: THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO TO UNDERTAKE ACTIVITIES THAT FURTHER THE OBJECTIVES OF THE MINNESOTA VALLEY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE AND WETLAND MANAGEMENT DISTRICT(REFUGE) OF THE USFWS, INCLUDING ACQUISITION, RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE OF LAND FOR THE REFUGE AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF REFUGE OPERATIONS.

THE MINNESOTA VALLEY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE TRUST, INC. RECEIVED FEE TITLE DONATION OF ONE PARCEL OF LAND TOTALING 0.57 ACRES IN CARVER COUNTY FOR THE MINNESOTA VALLEY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE (REFUGE). THE PROPERTY WAS TRANSFERRED TO MINNESOTA VALLEY LANDS, INC., A SUBSIDIARY OF THE TRUST, FOR MANAGEMENT AND HABITAT RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT. THE LANDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE USFWS AFTER THE HABITAT WORK IS COMPLETE. TRUST CONTRACTED WITH THE CONSERVATION CORPS OF MINNESOTA & IOWA FOR A 5- PERSON CREW TO COMPLETE HABITAT RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT WORK ACROSS THE REFUGE AND WETLAND MANAGEMENT DISTRICT. THE WORK WAS FUNDED BY A CONSERVATION PARTNERS LEGACY GRANT, AWARDED BY THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES. TOTAL EXPENDITURES OF 110,675 WERE CHARGED TO THE GRANT (THIS AMOUNT IS INCLUDED IN GRANTS TO USFWS BELOW). THE TRUST MADE GRANTS TO THE USFWS TOTALING 534,280 FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: -FUNDED THE OPERATIONS OF THE RAPIDS LAKE EDUCATION AND VISITORS CENTER, INSTALLATION OF A NEW WELL, AND OPERATIONS OF THE INTERN BUNKHOUSE -FUNDED 4 USFWS STAFF POSITIONS, INCLUDING 3 PARK RANGERS AND 1 MAINTENANCE POSITION -FUNDED SEVERAL SUMMER INTERNSHIPS ON THE REFUGE -FUNDED ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND OTHER VISITOR SERVICES FUNCTIONS ON THE REFUGE -CONTRACTED FOR HABITAT RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT WORK ON VARIOUS UNITS OF THE REFUGE AND WETLAND MANAGEMENT DISTRICT -PAID FOR THE OPERATION OF A PUBLIC WIRELESS NETWORK AT THE BLOOMINGTON EDUCATION AND VISITOR CENTER AND THE DISCOVER NATURE APP IN ADDITION, THE TRUST MADE GRANTS TO OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TOTALING 129,099 FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE REFUGE: -MADE GRANT PAYMENTS TO MINNESOTA VALLEY REFUGE FRIENDS TO SUPPORT THE TEACHING PRACTICUM INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AND URBAN OUTREACH PROGRAM AT THE REFUGE, AS WELL AS THE FRIENDS' EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION -MADE A GRANT TO THE MINNESOTA WATERFOWL ASSOCIATION FOR A BIOLOGIST POSITION TO COORDINATE HABITAT RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES ON LANDS OWNED AND MANAGED BY THE REFUGE AND MINNESOTA VALLEY LANDS, INC. "MADE A GRANT TO WOLF RIDGE ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER TO SUPPORT THE STUDENTS EAGERLY ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE (SEAK) PROGRAM, WHICH IS OPERATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE REFUGE. TRUST ALSO: - EMPLOYED A PROFESSIONAL TO PROVIDE GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS SUPPORT AND MANAGE VARIOUS PROJECTS FOR THE REFUGE AND TRUST -EMPLOYED AN APPRENTICE TO WORK WITH THE REFUGE'S URBAN OUTREACH PROGRAM
