BRIDGES OF HOPE WAS FOUNDED IN 2002 AS A 501C3 FAITH-BASED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. THE MISSION OF BRIDGES OF HOPE IS TO BUILD BRIDGES OF SUPPORT, ANCHORED IN CHRIST'S LOVE, BETWEEN FAMILIES IN THE LAKES AREA AND THE COMMUNITY ASSETS THAT CAN HELP THEM THRIVE AND GAIN HOPE. THOUGH THE ORGANIZATION IS FOUNDED ON RELIGIOUS PRINCIPLES, THE SERVICES TO HOUSEHOLDS ARE ALWAYS PROVIDED WITHOUT REFERENCE TO OR EXPECTATION OF ANY STATED BELIEF. BRIDGES OF HOPE PARTNERSHIPS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY TO STRENGTHEN, STABILIZE AND SUPPORT FAMILIES, SENDING A MESSAGE OF HOPE AND EMPOWERING FAMILIES TO THRIVE. BRIDGES OF HOPE SERVES ANYONE WHO CONTACTS US WITHIN CROW WING COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA. EVERY PERSON WHO REACHES OUT FOR HELP IS FACING A UNIQUE CHALLENGE; AND UNLIKE TRADITIONAL HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES THAT TYPICALLY FOCUS ON A SINGLE TYPE OF SERVICE (HOUSING, COUNSELING, HEALTH, ETC.), BRIDGES OF HOPE INSTEAD FOCUSES ON ASSISTING A HOUSEHOLD IN CRISIS-WHATEVER THE
COMMON GOODS CHARITY THRIFT STORE: OPERATED TWO THRIFT STORES TO CONTINUE MISSION OF SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. THE STORE UTILIZED VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST IN STORE OPERATIONS AND PROCESSING DONATIONS. THE GOAL OF COMMON GOODS IS TO HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT ON THE NUMBER OF PRODUCTS LEAVING THE AREA AND/OR ENTERING LANDFILLS. GOODS ARE RECYCLED AND REDISTRIBUTED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, AND AS A RESULT, LOCAL DONATIONS STAY LOCAL AND PROCEEDS FROM THE STORE HELP US SERVE LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED.
RESOURCE PROGRAM: OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES ARE TAILORED TO ADDRESS VARIOUS SOCIAL DETERMINANTS AND TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING THEM WITH RESOURCES AND CONNECTING THEM WITH NON- TRADITIONAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES ESPECIALLY IN CASES WHERE THE TRADITIONALLY AVAILABLE OPTIONS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED. THESE RESOURCES ARE PROVIDED IN A CULTURALLY COMPETENT MANNER. OUR RESOURCES CONNECTION SERVES AS A SOLUTION CHANNEL IN THE COMMUNITY AND AN OASIS OF HOPE TO HELP PEOPLE RESOLVE THEIR VARIOUS LIFE CHALLENGES. BRIDGES OF HOPE IS A CONDUIT BETWEEN PEOPLE IN NEED AND RESOURCES IN THE COMMUNITY. BRIDGES OF HOPE AIMS TO GIVE BACK TO THE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES WITH WHAT IT MUST, TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IN THE CURRENT YEAR WE ASSISTED 292 INDIVIDUALS IN NEED.
SERVICES PROGRAM: THE SERVICES AT BRIDGES OF HOPE ARE DELIVERED WITH A DELIBERATE SENSE OF DEMONSTRATING EMPATHY AND COMPASSION TO CHANGE LIVES. THESE SERVICES ARE CULTURALLY COMPETENT AND ANCHORED IN CHRISTS LOVE. OUR SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE FACING A CHALLENGE, CRISIS OR BARRIER TO SAFETY AND WELL-BEING, REGARDLESS OF THEIR SEX, RELIGION, RACE, FAMILY SIZE OR STATUS AND/OR DISABILITY STATUS. THE PARTICIPANTS IN THESE SERVICE STREAMS ARE GIVEN THE POWER TO HOPE AND TO MOVE FROM SURVIVAL TO SUSTAINABILITY BY INCREASING THEIR SOCIAL CAPITAL. IN THE CURRENT YEAR WE ASSISTED 239 INDIVIDUALS IN NEED.
