Organizations Filed Purposes:
To honor God by building relationships, hope, and a culture of achievement in mobile home communities through eduation, healthy activities, resource connections, and faith development
Mobile Hope builds a culture of achievement in marginalized mobile home communities through education assistance, healthy and positive activities, and connection to resources that help stabilize families.
Education: Our largest programs address educational development through a daily homework help program, English language classes, GED classes, and summer school opportunities. In addition, we partner with Rockford Early Childhood to provide early childhood development opportunities for children under 5. Each week, 50 volunteers assist in providing 140 students the help they need to stay on track with homework, projects, and assignments. Teachers continue to report higher completion rates and grades between students that participate at Mobile Hope and those that do not. Additionally, to address summer slide, we offer summer school for four weeks prior to the start of the new school year enabling students to start the year successfully and reduce some of the achievement gap.
At Risk Youth: Mobile Hope became an area provider for the TreeHouse program for at-risk youth and families in 2016. These programs include a weekly youth program, peer support groups, and increased one-on-one mentoring. This year, we added a similar program for 5th and 6th grade students called The Journey in an effort to reach even younger youth. This structure allows students to connect in a safe environment, learn about life and faith, support one another and express feelings, and growing adult/youth relationships.
Dayton Location: Mobile Hope has operated out of Corcoran, MN since it began and served in advisory roles for other mobile home communities in assisting them to offer similar independent programs. This year, however, a second location in Dayton, MN requested additional support and we incorporated that site into our own operations as of August of 2019. Mobile Hope now operates directly in the two largest mobile home communities in Hennepin County.
