CHILDREN RECEIVED IMMUNIZATIONS, DENTAL EXAMS, MENTAL WELLNESS SERVICES AND NUTRITIONAL ASSESMENTS, WHICH RESULTED IN SCHOOL READINESS AND IMPROVED HEALTH. 512 FAMILIES RECEIVED PARENT TRAINING/SUPPORT FOR IMPROVED PARENTING AND FAMILY FUNCTIONING. 28 ADULTS COMPLETED A GED AND 11 COMPLETED POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION/TRAINING TO SUPPORT THEIR EFFORTS IN OBTAINING EMPLOYMENT AND BECOMING SELF-SUFFICIENT.
EARLY LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS:THE EARLY LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS FOR THREE AND FOUR YEAR OLD CHILDREN WITH THE HIGHEST NEEDS TO IMPROVE SCHOOL READINESS FOR ALL YOUNG CHILDREN. SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND A HIGH-QUALITY EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM AS RATED THROUGH PARENT AWARE, MINNESOTA'S QUALITY RATING AND IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM. CHILDREN BIRTH TO TWO YEARS OLD ARE ELIGIBLE IF THEY MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: CHILD OF A TEEN PARENT UNDER THE AGE OF 21; CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE; IN NEED OF CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES; EXPERIENCED HOMELESSNESS IN THE LAST 24 MONTHS.PRIORITY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS IS GIVEN BASED ON FAMILY INCOME, CHILD POVERTY, ONE OF THE SPECIAL POPULATIONS AS NOTED PREVIOUSLY, AND GEOGRAPHIC REGION. FAMILIES MUST MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AS OUTLINED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES, SECTION 124D.165. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2019, THE AGENCY SERVED 148 ELIGIBLE CHILDREN IN REGION 2 AND 274 ELIGIBLE CHILDREN IN REGION 5.
HOUSING ASSISTANCE:2,028 INDIVIDUALS WERE SCREENED FOR SNAP BENEFITS; 232 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED RENT OR MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE; 89 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED MONTHLY RENTAL VOUCHERS; 5 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN FINANCIAL EDUCATION; 89 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED BUDGETING ASSISTANCE.
