TO PRESERVE THE DULUTH ARMORY AND ITS HISTORIC VALUE TO AMERICAN CULTURE AND THE ARTS, WHILE ENCOURAGING ITS REUSE, PLACING EMPHASIS ON ARTS AND EDUCATION.
THE AAMC IS EXCITED TO HAVE A SIGNED PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH A WELL-RESPECTED DEVELOPER FROM MINNEAPOLIS. THE AAMC AND THE DEVELOPER ARE WORKING CLOSELY TO REALIZE THE VISION OF A VIBRANT MIXED USE PROJECT AT THE ARMORY. THE DEVELOPER IS CURRENTLY IN THEIR DUE DILIGENCE PHASE AND EXPECT TO KNOW WHETHER THEY WILL UNDERTAKE THE RENOVATIONS IN LATE 2016.THE AAMC CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN THE ARMORY AND RECENTLY COMPLETED AN EXTERIOR MASONRY STABILIZATION PROJECT FUNDED LARGELY BY A LEGACY GRANT FROM THE MN HISTORICAL SOCIETY.
The AAMC operates the Music Resource Center, a free after-school music program for teenagers in the Duluth-Superior area. The mission of the Music Resource Center is to educate and inspire young people and through music equip them with life skills for the future. We accomplish this mission through music education and performance opportunities, as well as life skills mentoring.
