Organizations Filed Purposes: ONE ROOF MISSION STATEMENT: ENRICHING LIVES AND COMMUNITIES ONE HOME AT A TIME.ONE ROOF VISION STATEMENT: COMMUNITIES WHERE EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO SUSTAINABLE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING.ENRICHING LIVES & COMMUNITIES ONE HOME AT A TIME. ONE ROOF HELPS TO STRENGTHEN THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING HOUSING SERVICES AND BUILDING AND SUSTAINING AFFORDABLE HOMES AND HEALTHY NEIGHBORHOODS. WE MAKE HOME A BETTER PLACE BY HELPING LOWER INCOME PEOPLE PURCHASE A HOME OR REPAIR THEIR HOME, BY PROVIDING HOUSING DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY, AND BY COORDINATING HOUSING ACTIVITY ACROSS NEIGHBORHOODS IN DULUTH. THIS WORK HELPS ONE ROOF FULFILL OUR MISSION OF ENSURING ACCESS TO SUSTAINABLE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR EVERYONE.

CREATE AFFORDABLE HOMES & STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES THROUGH WISE STEWARDSHIP OF LAND & RESOURCES.

COMMUNITY LAND TRUST (CLT) PROGRAM: DEVELOPMENT AND STEWARDSHIP OF PERMANENTLY AFFORDABLE CLT HOMES FOR PURCHASE BY LOW-MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS TO ENSURE AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WILL EXIST IN OUR COMMUNITY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. CURRENT FOCUS IS ON ACQUISITION-REHABILITATION AND SALE OF PROPERTIES IN DULUTH, PROCTOR, AND CLOQUET. WE ALSO HAVE A SMALL NUMBER OF NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES IN DULUTH THAT WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2019-2020. WE HAVE COMPLETED DEVELOPMENT OF 10 HOMES IN GRAND MARAIS. IN 2019, ONE ROOF HELPED 28 HOUSEHOLDS PURCHASE A CLT HOME, WHICH INCLUDED ACQUISITION/REHAB HOMES, NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES AND RESALE HOMES.

MULTIFAMILY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: ONE ROOF DEVELOPS AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOWER INCOME HOUSEHOLDS IN OUR COMMUNITY TO PREVENT HOMELESSNESS. THE MOST RECENT PROJECT WAS THE CONSTRUCTION OF FOUR 4-PLEXES IN LUTSEN, MN. ONE ROOF CONTINUES TO WORK ON ADDITIONAL NEW MULTI-FAMILY PROJECTS. DECKER DWELLINGS, LOCATED IN DULUTH HEIGHTS, RECEIVED FUNDING IN 2019 AND CONSTRUCTION OF 42 APARTMENT UNITS IS SLATED TO START IN LATE SUMMER 2020. AN ADDITIONAL PROJECT, BREWERY CREEK APARTMENTS, IS IN PREDEVELOPMENT PHASE AND FUNDING APPLICATION WILL BE SUBMITTED IN 2020.

HOMEBUYER EDUCATION: HOME STRETCH CLASSES AND PRE/POST PURCHASE COUNSELING AND EDUCATION TO ENSURE THAT LOWER INCOME HOMEOWNERS ARE PREPARED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR HOMEOWNERSHIP ENDEAVORS. HOME STRETCH CLASSES ARE OFFERED 16 TIMES PER YEAR. IN 2019, 280 HOUSEHOLDS COMPLETED THE HOME STRETCH CLASS AND 176 NEW HOUSEHOLDS UTILIZED HOMEBUYER COUNSELING SERVICES.
