Organizations Filed Purposes: PROMOTE, FUND, MONITOR AND STRENGTHEN PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON CHILDREN'S HEALTH IN BAJA CAL SUR.

SPIRIT OF LOVECONGENITAL HEART DEFECTS ARE THE SECOND CAUSE OF MORTALITY IN CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 4 IN THE STATE OF BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR (B.C.S.). SINCE THE BEGINNING, LCCF HAS BEEN SUPPORTING CASES RELATED TO HEART MALFORMATIONS IN MINORS. AS A RESULT IN 2013, WE WERE ABLE TO PERFORM THE FIRST OPEN HEART SURGERY IN B.C.S. TODAY WE FEEL PROUD TO HAVE PERFORMED 138 ADDITIONAL SURGERIES, 105 CATHETERIZATIONS, MORE THAN 5,000 EVALUATIONS AND TO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCREDITATION OF THE PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY PROGRAM AT SALVATIERRA GENERAL HOSPITAL IN LA PAZ, WHICH ENSURES THE LONG TERM CARE FOR CHILDREN IN THE STATE. THIS HAS BEEN POSSIBLE THANKS TO THE TEAMWORK OF LOCAL AND FOREIGN DOCTORS AND THE SUM OF MANY JOINT EFFORTS. THE PROGRAM HAS TRAINED MANY DOCTORS AND NURSES IN THE HOSPITAL AND CONTINUES TO BE THE ONLY OPTION TO SERVE CHILDREN WITH THESE CONDITIONS IN OUR STATE.

SPIRIT OF SERVICETHE SPIRIT OF SERVICE IS THE PILLAR OF LCCF THAT INCLUDES ALL OTHER INITIATIVES THAT ADDRESS SOME ASPECT OF THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE CHILDREN OF THE STATE. THROUGH FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND STRATEGIC ACCOMPANIMENT, WE HAVE MANAGED A GOOD DYNAMIC FLOW BETWEEN PROGRAMS THAT HAVE DIFFERENT APPROACHES AND DIFFERENT PROBLEMS BUT THAT SHARE A COMMON VISION AND COMMITMENT TO THE CHILDREN OF THE STATE THAT MOTIVATES US TO CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN TIES WITH THESE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS, IN MATTERS FROM PHYSICAL AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY TO MENTAL HEALTH AND PREVENTION.

SPIRIT OF HOPETHE SPIRIT OF HOPE OF LCCF WAS FORMALLY BORN IN 2014, WITH THE CREATION OF THE PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT, THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND THROUGHOUT THE STATE. TOGETHER WITH THE NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT, THEY PROVIDE CARE TO CHILDREN FROM THE WHOLE STATE AND FROM ALL MEDICAL INSURANCES IN THE MOST CRITICAL HEALTH CONDITIONS. ADDITIONALLY, IN 2016 A NEW PROGRAM BEGAN THAT ADDRESSES THE CRITICAL HEALTH NEEDS OF CHILDREN WHO DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO COVER A LIFE-SAVING DRUG, MEDICAL TEST, OR PROCEDURE. SO FAR, IT HAS BEEN A VERY SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM, BESIDES DIRECTLY SUPPORTING 645 BENEFICIARIES IN 2018-2019 ALONE, WE WILL BE ABLE TO DETERMINE A MORE PRECISE OVERVIEW OF THE MEDICAL SPECIALTIES NEEDED IN OUR STATE.
