Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF US MATH RECOVERY COUNCIL IS TO TRANSFORM NUMERACY EDUCATION, TO CONNECT RESEARCH WITH PRACTICE, AND TO EMPOWER EDUCATORS TO ADVANCE STUDENT MATHEMATICAL THINKING AND SUCCESS THROUGH MATH RECOVERY PRINCIPLES.

ADD+VANTAGE MR COURSES 1, 2, AND FRACTIONS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT K-8 MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENT AND TEACHING. COURSE 1 INTRODUCES PARTICIPANTS TO THE LEARNING FRAMEWORK IN NUMBER AND INCLUDES ASSESSMENTS FOR NUMBER WORDS AND NUMERALS, STRUCTURING NUMBERS 1-20, AND ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION STRATEGIES. COURSE 1 ALSO INCLUDES THE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR EARLY NUMBER. COURSE 2 EXPANDS THE LEARNING FRAMEWORK IN NUMBER INTO NUMBER DOMAINS OF PLACE VALUE AND MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION. ADD +VANTAGEMR FRACTIONS IS A BLENDED LEARNING COURSE TARGETD FOR TEACHERS OF GRADES 3-8. TWO ASSESSMENTS FOCUSING ON UNITS COORDINATION AND INITIAL FRACTION CONCEPTS ARE PROVIDED ALONGSIDE DEDICATED TIME TO USING ASSESSMENT RESULTS TO PLAN INSTRUCTION.

MATH RECOVERY SPECIALIST IS A YEAR-LONG PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE THAT BUILDS A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN MATH RECOVERY ASSESSMENT, CONTENT, AND PEDAGOGY. AS PART OF THE COURSE, PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE IN WORKING 1:1 AND IN SMALL GROUPS WITH STUDENTS. THE MATH RECOVERY SPECIALIST IS WELL- PREPARED FOR PROVIDING TARGETED INTERVENTION WITH STUDENTS AND IS A VALUABLE RESOURCE FOR SUPPORTING SCHOOL OR DISTRICT-WIDE MATHEMATICS INITIATIVES. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE MATH RECOVERY SPECIALIST CERTIFICATION QUALIFIES PARTICIPANTS FOR THE ADD+VANTAGEMR CHAMPION COURSE, WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO LEAD AND SUPPORT ADD+VANTAGEMR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS IN THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

MATH RECOVERY CONTINUING EDUCATION INCLUDES OUR NATIONAL CONFERENCE, LEADERSHIP SERIES COURSES, AND SUPPORT SERVICES. THE CONFERENCE PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION RELATED TO US MATH RECOVERY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IS OPEN TO BOTH MATH RECOVERY MEMBERS AND MEMBERS OF THE MATHEMATICS COMMUNITY AT LARGE. WE FOCUS ON DEVELOPING TEACHER PEDAGOGY FOR IMPROVED STUDENT LEARNING. LEADERSHIP SERIES COURSES INCLUDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH A BLEND OF FACE-TO-FACE AND ONLINE SUPPORT SESSIONS THAT GUIDE AND INFORM PARTICIPANTS AS THEY DEVELOP, REFINE, AND EXTEND KNOWLEDGE OF MATH RECOVERY CONTENT AND PEDAGOGY. COURSES IN THE LEADERSHIP SERIES SUPPORT AND LEAD SUSTAINABLE MATH RECOVERY INITIATIVES IN SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS. SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDE ON-SITE AND VIRTUAL IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT AFTER COURSES.
