Free Bikes 4 Kidz MN is a non-profit organization geared towards helping kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. The public donates gently used bikes, and FB4K MN organizes thousands of volunteers to clean and refurbish them.

2020 marked FB4K MN's 13th season. FB4K MN collected 9,743 bikes. In a season shortened by the COVID 19 pandemic, FB4K MN still managed to safely organize over 1,200 community-minded volunteers with varying skills to clean and refurbish 16% of these bikes. Due to the impact of COVID 19, we were only able to refurbish and distribute 1,574 bikes in 2020. We therefore have an inventory of over 8,000 bikes to safely clean and refurbish in the spring of 2021. We will work with local nonprofit community partners then to identify and distribute these bikes to kids in the community that need them.
In 2019, the FB4K MN acquired the rights to the MN Ironman Bike Ride. This legendary ride is the longest running organized ride in Minnesota. From humble beginnings in 1967, MN Ironman Bike Ride has grown to thousands of riders proudly riding it annually. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, FB4K MN unfortunately had to cancel the 2020 ride and hosted a virtual event instead, but we are looking forward to safely hosting the ride in 2021 as our main fundraising event.
FB4K National has affiliates in 14 cities. On April 13, 2020, a new nonprofit, Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) was incorporated. All program efforts with supporting these affiliates and expanding in to new markets nationally will be managed by that Organization.
