Organizations Filed Purposes: EDINA GIVE AND GO'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED. WE UNLOCK OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS, FROM ACADEMICS TO THE ARTS TO ATHLETICS. ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NUMEROUS PROGRAMS STUDENTS CAN ENGAGE IN OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL DAY, ROUGHLY 9% OF EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS STUDENTS LIVE AT OR NEAR THE POVERTY LINE AND CANNOT AFFORD TO ENGAGE IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. EDINA GIVE AND GO UNLOCKS THESE OPPORTUNITIES BY REMOVING FINANCIAL BARRIERS FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS, COVERING THINGS LIKE ACTIVITY FEES, EQUIPMENT COSTS, AND PARTICIPATION EXPENSES.

TO BRING LIFE AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO EDINA STUDENTS WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED.

ACADEMICS PROGRAM:THIS YEAR WE UNLOCKED OVER 250 ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS. THESE WERE OPPORTUNITIES WHERE STUDENTS WANTED TO GET INVOLVED AND THE COST WAS A BARRIER. WE PARTNERED WITH THE EDINA EARLY LEARNING CENTER TO HELP PROVIDE ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY PRE-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR YOUNGEST LEARNERS. WE DID THIS THROUGH TUITION SUPPORT FOR FOUR STUDENTS (2 THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND 2 FOUR-YEAR-OLDS). WE HELPED REMOVE THE BARRIER FOR STUDENTS TO STAY CONNECTED TO CLASS COMMUNICATION AND GET HOMEWORK DONE BY PROVIDING HOME INTERNET ACCESS FOR 30 STUDENTS. DRIVER'S EDUCATION FEES ARE A BARRIER PREVENTING STUDENTS IN LOWER-INCOME HOMES FROM GAINING THE MOBILITY AND OPPORTUNITIES A DRIVER'S LICENSE CAN PROVIDE. WE SUPPORTED 38 STUDENTS BY COVERING DRIVER'S EDUCATION EXPENSES (DRIVER'S EDUCATION COSTS OVER $350 PER STUDENT). WHEN SURVEYED, STUDENTS WHO TOOK DRIVER'S EDUCATION TOLD US THAT THE NUMBER ONE THING HAVING A DRIVER'S LICENSE WOULD HELP THEM DO WAS- "GO GET A JOB". WE UNLOCKED OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALMOST 100 STUDENTS THIS SUMMER WITH ACCESS TO CAMPS AND CLASSES THROUGH EDINA COMMUNITY EDUCATION.

ATHLETICS PROGRAM:THIS YEAR WE UNLOCKED 101 ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS. THESE WERE OPPORTUNITIES WHERE STUDENTS WANTED TO GET INVOLVED AND THE COST WAS A BARRIER. STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN OVER 16 DIFFERENT SPORTS INCLUDING- SWIMMING, KUNG-FU, BASKETBALL, AND SOCCER TO NAME JUST A FEW.

ARTS PROGRAM:THIS YEAR WE UNLOCKED 130 ARTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS. THESE WERE OPPORTUNITIES WHERE STUDENTS WANTED TO GET INVOLVED AND THE COST WAS A BARRIER. WE SUPPORTED OVER 60 STUDENTS WITH INSTRUMENT RENTAL AND REPAIR COSTS.
