Our mission is to make the world a better place by bringing sustainable waste management solutions into developing nations, beginning with the island country of Haiti. We start with a focus on trash collection, knowing that cleaning up trash is just the beginning. Sustainable waste management strategies lead to enhanced health, wellness, and safety for local communities; they enable composting for enhanced food security; protect surrounding environments to foster cleaner drinking water, cleaner air, and cleaner oceans. In addition, our efforts drive new job creation and other economic benefits for the local communities. Clean Challenge provides training, expertise and other resources in early and mid-stages of project development, then works to transition ownership to local resources and community leaders for long-term sustainability.
We advocate for improving waste systems to enhance water quality, soil health, and food security.
We are working with Haiti Teen Challenge Foundation in Haiti to set up systems to properly process non-organic waste and to compost organic waste so it can be used by local farmers. We are also leading training efforts by applying needed expertise and resources to education with community participation. Education is key to influencing adoption of new behaviors to restore and improve Haiti's ecosystem.
