We are dedicated to providing shelter, food, and medical care for stray, abused, and surrendered cats and kittens and matching them with people who have a desire and the ability to provide a loving, permanent home.
Non-profit no-kill cat shelter staffed entirely by volunteers. Provides medical care and sanctuary for cats in hopes of placing them with a suitable permanent home or foster home. Cats arrive via owner surrender, other rescue organizations, or rescues (strays).
Caring for Cats provides medical examinations, health screening tests, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and food for all cats we take into foster care. Cats in foster care include pregnant and nursing cats, cats recovering from medical procedures, cats with medical conditions regarding ongoing veterinary care, cats with behavioral problems, and all other cats who are temporarily or permanently unsuitable for adoption. In 2020, we had 49 cats and kittens who were either permanently or temporarily in foster care.
Caring for Cats provides emergency medical services to cats preventing with emergent health conditions which require immediate attention. Doing so allows us to provide needed medical care to cats in need of care, whether upon intake or for cats currently in our foster care or shelter, to provide them the best chance at a healthy life and subsequent adoption, or to ease their suffering when rehabilitation is not possible.
Caring for Cats thoroughly vets all cats intended for adoption, including vaccinations, testing, spay/neuter, and any necessary medications or treatment. In 2020, Caring for Cats accepted 191 cats into our shelter and foster homes and performed 196 adoptions.
