THOUGHT LEADERSHIP -FROM A "THOUGHT LEADERSHIP" STANDPOINT, THE CENTER IS ALREADY WORKING WITH THE ETHICS AND BUSINESS LAW FACULTY OF THE OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ON RESEARCH IN BUSINESS ETHICS AND CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY. ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE:A. THE CENTER'S LANDMARK BOOK, CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY: THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, WON THE "BEST BOOK" AWARD FROM THE SOCIAL ISSUES IN MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF THE ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT.B. THE CENTER SERVED AS PROJECT LEADERS AND EDITORS WITH THE BUSINESS ETHICS FACULTY OF THE OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS IN EDITING THE THIRD EDITION OF THE WILEY BLACKWELL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MANAGEMENT BUSINESS ETHICS VOLUME. THIS THIRD EDITION VOLUME BROUGHT TOGETHER LEADING ETHICISTS TO CONTRIBUTE ARTICLES ON ETHICAL THEORY, ETHICAL TRENDS, AND EMERGING ETHICAL ISSUES IN OUR SOCIETY.C. THE CENTER IS ALSO PROVIDING SUPPORT TO DR. CHRISTOPHER MICHAELSON, ASSOCIATE ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS' OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, WHO IS SERVING AS THE SECRETARIAT OF ISBEE (INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS AND ETHICS).RECOGNITION FOR ITS OUTREACH TO THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY -FROM A "PRACTICE LEADERSHIP" STANDPOINT, THE CENTER'S LEADERSHIP HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE SOCIETY FOR CORPORATE COMPLIANCE AND ETHICS WITH ONE OF SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR "PIONEERING IN THE FIELD OF APPLIED BUSINESS ETHICS THROUGH EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING INTEGRITY AND ETHICAL BEHAVIORS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP AND CORPORATE CULTURE." AS A RESULT, THE CENTER CONTINUES TO BE CALLED UPON TO DEVELOP AND DELIVER LEADERSHIP TRAINING SERVICES FOR ORGANIZATIONS IN A VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES.INTERSECTING THOUGHT AND PRACTICE LEADERSHIP -THIS REPRESENTS A POINT OF DIFFERENTIATION FOR THE CENTER AND THE OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS. WE ARE WORKING TO CREATE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE THOUGHT AND PRACTICE LEADERSHIP COMMUNITIES AND TO NURTURE THEIR SHARED INTEREST IN SUPPORTING PRINCIPLED LEADERSHIP AS THEY BUILD AND SUSTAIN ETHICAL CULTURES. THE CENTER SPONSORS OR CO-SPONSORS HIGH PROFILE SPEAKERS TO THE MINNESOTA COMMUNITY; CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS MEMBER COMPANIES TO SHARE "BEST PRACTICES AND "LESSONS LEARNED" WHILE LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER THROUGH ITS "ROUNDTABLES; AND, SPEAKS IN LOCAL, REGIONAL, AND NATIONAL PUBLIC VENUES EACH YEAR. WE ARE USING THESE FORUMS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHARED DIALOGUE BETWEEN "THOUGHT AND PRACTICE" LEADERS. THE CENTER ALSO DEVELOPED EXECUTIVE ROUNDTABLES FOR SMALL AND MID-SIZE COMPANIES AS WELL AS PROGRAMS FOR CENTER MEMBERS AND FRIENDS FOCUSED ON: AGING AND ADVISORS CENTER LEADERS FORUM (THREE TIMES)ASSISTING IN THE EDUCATION OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS -THE CENTER ASSISTS THE OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS' FACULTY IN EDUCATING HIGHLY PRINCIPLED GLOBAL BUSINESS LEADERS BY SERVING AS ADJUNCT FACULTY, GUEST LECTURERS, AND/OR PROVIDING LINKAGES OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY DIRECTLY INTO THE CLASSROOM. THE CENTER HAS SPONSORED A CEBC ETHICS CASE COMPETITION IN THE FULL-TIME UST MBA PROGRAM AT THE OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS WITH WINNING TEAMS SUCCESSFULLY COMPETING AGAINST MAJOR ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AT THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS ETHICS CASE COMPETITION (IBECC) SPONSORED BY THE CENTER FOR ETHICS AND BUSINESS AT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY, THE UST OPUS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, AND THE ETHICS & COMPLIANCE OFFICER ASSOCIATION (ECOA).
