Organizations Filed Purposes: TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP, COLLABORATION, AND POLICY ANALYSIS THAT ACCELERATES CLEAN ENERGY MARKET GROWTH AND SMART ENERGY POLICIES.

STATE POLICY ANALYSIS:CEEM SUCCESSFULLY ROLLED OUT THE 2019 MINNESOTA STATE ENERGY FACTSHEET THAT REVEALED DRAMATIC COST DECLINES FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY IN MINNESOTA. THE REPORT'S FINDINGS ALSO SHOWED THAT RENEWABLE ENERGY WAS THE SECOND LARGEST SOURCE OF ELECTRICITY GENERATION IN THE STATE FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW AND THAT CLEANER GENERATION SOURCES BROUGHT MINNESOTA'S CARBON EMISSIONS DOWN 34 PERCENT SINCE 2005. CEEM ALSO RELEASED THE 2019 CLEAN JOBS MIDWEST MINNESOTA REPORT THAT SHOWED OVER 61,000 MINNESOTANS WORK IN CLEAN ENERGY AND THAT THE INDUSTRY WAS GROWING JOBS 2.5 TIMES FASTER THAN THE STATE'S OVERALL JOB GROWTH. THE REPORT ALSO REVEALED THAT MINNESOTA LED THE MIDWEST REGION IN RENEWABLE ENERGY JOB GROWTH DUE TO LARGE GAINS IN WIND AND SOLAR JOBS AND THAT 40 PERCENT OF CLEAN ENERGY JOBS ARE LOCATED THROUGHOUT GREATER MINNESOTA. THE REPORT'S FINDINGS WERE RELEASED AT A PRESS CONFERENCE ALONGSIDE GOVERNOR WALZ AT THE STATE CAPITOL IN SAINT PAUL AND ALSO INCLUDED REMARKS FROM CEEM'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SEVERAL PROMINENT BUSINESS LEADERS FROM THE STATE'S CLEAN ENERGY INDUSTRY, AND A LEADER FROM THE LABOR COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO EDUCATED STATE LAWMAKERS ON SEVERAL KEY POLICY ISSUES INCLUDING COMMERCIAL PROPERTY ASSESSED CLEAN ENERGY (C-PACE), ENERGY STORAGE, AND THE CONSERVATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) THAT RESULTED IN IMPROVED PUBLIC POLICY ACTION AND OUTCOMES FOR ALL MINNESOTANS.

STAKEHOLDER CONVENING:IN 2019, CEEM PLANNED, CONVENED, AND FACILITATED A SERIES OF STAKEHOLDER DIALOGUES INVOLVING BUSINESS LEADERS, FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL DECISION-MAKERS, AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO EDUCATE PARTICIPANTS ON THE BUSINESS CASE AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CLEAN ENERGY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED A NEW SET OF CLEAN ENERGY WORKER PROFILES AND STORIES AS PART OF ITS NAMES BEHIND THE NUMBERS MINNESOTA VIDEO SERIES. THIS STORYTELLING INITIATIVE SHARES THE PERSONAL STORIES AND MOTIVATIONS OF WORKERS IN THE CLEAN ENERGY INDUSTRY ACROSS THE STATE AND HIGHLIGHTS THE MYRIAD OF JOBS THAT MAKE UP ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING EMPLOYMENT SECTORS IN MINNESOTA.

PUBLIC EDUCATION:CEEM DELIVERED QUARTERLY EDUCATION AND NETWORKING EVENTS THAT CONVENED CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESS LEADERS, DECISION-MAKERS, AND THE PUBLIC AROUND PRESSING TOPICAL ISSUES IMPACTING THE CLEAN ENERGY INDUSTRY IN MINNESOTA. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO ORGANIZED LUNCH AND LEARN EVENTS FOR STAKEHOLDERS TO SHARE INSIGHTS AND DISCUSS OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH ACCELERATING THE STATE'S TRANSITION TO A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE. IN 2019, OVER 700 TOTAL ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN CEEM EDUCATION EVENTS WITH HEADCOUNT CONSISTENTLY EXCEEDING ATTENDANCE GOALS. CEEM ALSO HOSTED OVER 100 CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESS LEADERS AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESS DAY AT THE CAPITOL. THIS DAY OF EDUCATION INCLUDED GOVERNOR WALZ DECLARING FEBRUARY 13, 2019 AS CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESS DAY IN MINNESOTA AND INCLUDED REMARKS FROM STATE COMMISSIONERS OVERSEEING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION.
