THE CORNER HOUSE FORENSIC SERVICES TEAM OFFERS A SAFE AND CONFIDENTIAL PLACE FOR CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND VULNERABLE ADULTS, WHO ARE SUSPECTED VICTIMS OR WITNESSES OF ABUSE, TO TALK ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES. IN THE YEAR 2019, MORE THAN 500 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN A FORENSIC INTERVIEW WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF A COORDINATED, MULTIDISCIPLINARY INVESTIGATION. A FORENSIC INTERVIEW IS A NEUTRAL, FACT-FINDING INQUIRY CONDUCTED WITH CONSIDERATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENTAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL. CORNER HOUSE ABIDES BY A "PERSON CENTERED" APPROACH WHICH ENSURES THAT THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL ARE GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY DURING THE FORENSIC INTERVIEW PROCESS. THE FORENSIC INTERVIEW IS PERSON-CENTERED AND IS ALIGNED WITH THE COGNITIVE, BEHAVIORAL, AND SOCIAL ABILITIES OF EACH INDIVIDUAL. CORNER HOUSE STAFF MEMBERS ARE CONSTANTLY ENGAGED IN ASSESSING AND INCREASING THE COMFORT LEVEL OF EACH INDIVIDUAL, PREVENTING ADDITIONAL TRAUMA, AND ELICITING ACCURATE INFORMATION. OUR INTERVIEWERS ARE HIGHLY-TRAINED, OBJECTIVE AND COMPASSIONATE PROFESSIONALS WHO KNOW HOW TO PUT PEOPLE AT EASE. THE INTERVIEWERS USE THE CORNER HOUSE FORENSIC INTERVIEW PROTOCOL, AN INTERVIEWING PROTOCOL DEVELOPED BY CORNER HOUSE AND IS NOW WIDELY USED ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THE GLOBE. THE MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM AND CORNER HOUSE PARTNER WITH A MEDICAL TEAM WHO SPECIALIZE IN CHILD ABUSE AND CONDUCT NON-ACUTE FORENSIC MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS.

THE CORNER HOUSE FAMILY SERVICES ARE DESIGNED OFFER CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS THERAPEUTIC AND SUPPORT SERVICES THEY NEED TO STABILIZE, HEAL AND RECONNECT AFTER INCIDENTS OF ABUSE. CAREGIVERS ARE OFFERED ONGOING SUPPORT WITH CRISIS MANAGEMENT, LEGAL NAVIGATION, PLANNING FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CHILD, AND THERAPEUTIC SERVICES TO ENSURE FAMILIES HAVE THE RESOURCES, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT THEY NEED TO HEAL AND THRIVE. FAMILY SERVICES OFFER ONSITE TRAUMA INFORMED THERAPY, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND A HOME VISITING PROGRAM. IN 2019, WE SERVED OVER 300 FAMILIES THROUGH OUR FAMILY SERVICES PROGRAMMING.
