SOCIAL ENTERPRISE:DURING 2019, FINNEGANS COMMUNITY FUND CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR THE FINNOVATION LAB, TO OPERATE A 10,000 SQUARE FOOT SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, WORKSPACE FOCUSED ON CATALYZING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND FURTHERING CHARITABLE PURPOSE. THE COLLABORATION PROVIDES CO-WORKING AND OFFICE SPACE, EDUCATION, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND OTHER SUPPORT FOR IMPACT DRIVEN ENTREPRENEURS AND INVESTORS. THE FINNOVATION LAB PROVIDES A 9 MONTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS EARLY-STAGE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS WHO HAVE BOLD IDEAS FOR SUSTAINABLE, SYSTEMS-LEVEL CHANGE. IN 2019, 5 FELLOWS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM. DURING 2019, FINNEGANS COMMUNITY FUND WAS INVOLVED IN FUND RAISING TO SUPPORT THE FINNOVATION LAB OPERATIONS TO FURTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSE AND GRANTED $25,401. THE FUND ALSO SUPPORTED A CARLSON VENTURE ENTERPRISE PROJECT, COMPLETED IN 2018, TO ANALYZE OPPORTUNITIES OF INNOVATION AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE SUPPORT FOR THE FINNOVATION LAB.ALTHOUGH NO GRANTS WERE MADE IN 2019 THE FUND PLANS TO CONTINUE SUPPORT OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTER'S SERVICES FOR MINORITY OWNED BUSINESSES AND BUSINESS OUTREACH IN THE ELLIOT PARK NEIGHBORHOOD IN 2020.THE FUND FOUND A NEW OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, NETZRO, WORKING ON FOOD SYSTEMS EFFORTS, THROUGH THE VENN FOUNDATION. NETZRO'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS TO ELIMIATE FOOD AND WANTER WAST FROM FARM TO FORK AND FROM FORK TO FARM.

ALLEVIATE HUNGER:THROUGH FINNEGANS COMMUNITY FUND'S VARIOUS "REVERSE FOOD TRUCK" FUNDRAISING EVENTS HELD DURING 2019, A TOTAL OF 2,699 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE DONATED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THESE CONTRIBUTIONS WERE GRANTED BY THE FUND TO PARTNERS TO END HUNGER WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES.TEAMFINNEGANS COMMUNITY ACTION NIGHTS BROUGHT DOZENS OF VOLUNTEERS TOGETHER TO SUPPORT FOOD PACKING FOR LOCAL FOOD SHELVES AND BANKS, AS WELL AS TO RESCUE PRODUCE WITH THE FOOD GROUP AT MINNEAPOLIS FARMERS MARKETS.THE FUND ALSO CONTINUED TO HOST A FARMERS MARKET WITHIN THE ELLIOT PARK NEIGHBORHOOD TO CREATE AN ACCESS POINT TO LOCAL PRODUCE. THE ELLIOTPARK NEIGHBORHOOD HAS NO GROCERY STORES.
