TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES THAT BRING THE POWER OF MUSIC TO CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND ADULTS.

THE ORGANIZATION COMMISSIONS ORIGINAL WORKS SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS PROGRAM. KINDER KONZERTS ON THE ROAD IS A WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY THAT BRINGS LIVE CLASSICAL MUSIC DIRECTLY TO INNER-CITY SCHOOLS. AN ENSEMBLE OF MUSICIANS FROM THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA PERFORMS TWO 35-MINUTE KINDER KONZERT PROGRAMS IN THE SCHOOL. INCLUDED ARE INDIVIDUAL CLASSROOM WORKSHOPS TAUGHT BY A TEACHING ARTIST. THE YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION BRINGS TOGETHER ASPIRING YOUNG MUSICIAN WHO COMPETE FOR CASH PRIZES AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDING PLAYING A CONCERTO WITH THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA. ACCENT IS PRODUCED 5-6 TIMES/YR AND INCLUDES FOOD, DRINK AND AN EVENING WITH A MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA MUSICIAN.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES INCLUDE PROGRAMMING TO KEEP VOLUNTEERS ENGAGED, SOFTWARE TO TRACK VOLUNTEERS, DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING MATERIALS AND HOSTING TRAINING GATHERINGS. INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY IS THE DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROVIDED TO THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA.
MEMBERSHIP INVOLVES KEEPING MEMBERS INFORMED AND ENGAGED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND ACTIVITIES. THESE MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ELECTRONIC AND SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATION, FEEDBACK QUESTIONNAIRES AND SURVEYS, MAILINGS, EVENTS WITH OTHER ARTS ORGANIZATIONS, AN ANNUAL REPORT AND MEETING AND A MEMBER DIRECTORY.
