BETHESDA HOSPITAL OPENED IN ST. PAUL IN 1883. WITH 254 LICENSED BEDS, BETHESDA HOSPITAL IS THE LARGEST LONG-TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL IN THE REGION, PROVIDING SPECIALIZED CARE FOR PATIENTS EXPERIENCING SUDDEN TRAUMA OR LONG-TERM ILLNESS. SERVICES ARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO TREAT PATIENTS WITH MULTIPLE MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND COMPLEX NEEDS, PARTICULARLY ONES THAT REQUIRE LONGER-TERM, HOSPITAL-LEVEL CARE WITH DAILY PHYSICIAN INVOLVEMENT. WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES (MEDKAB) HEALTHEAST CARE SYSTEM INTER-FACILITY COURIER SERVICES TACTICAL EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (TEMS) FOR HIGH-RISK SITUATIONS HEALTHEAST MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION HAS BEEN SERVING THE TWIN CITIES FOR MORE THAN 100 YEARS UNDER DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMES. HOME CARE SERVICES INVOLVE VISITS TO THE PATIENT'S HOME AND INCLUDE SKILLED NURSING, PHYSICAL THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, SPEECH THERAPY, INFUSION THERAPY, MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER VISITS, HOME HEALTH AIDE VISITS AND IN-HOME EMERGENCY RESPONSE MONITORING SYSTEM. HOME CARE REVENUES INCLUDE PAYMENTS FROM THE MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PROGRAMS. HOME INFUSION THERAPY/INTRAVENOUS (IV) MEDICATIONS CAN NOW BE SAFELY ADMINISTERED IN THE HOME. SPECIALLY TRAINED NURSES AND CLINICAL PHARMACISTS WORK WITH DOCTORS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE INFUSION THERAPIES. HIGH-RISK PREGNANCIES CAN BE MONITORED BY A HOME CARE NURSE IN THE COMFORT OF THE PATIENTS' HOME TO HELP PREVENT COMPLICATIONS AND EARLY DELIVERIES. HEALTHEAST PALLIATIVE CARE PROVIDES HOME HEALTH CARE TO THOSE WITH ADVANCED CHRONIC ILLNESSES, SUCH AS CANCER, HEART, LUNG, LIVER OR NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE. AGGRESSIVE SYMPTOM MANAGEMENT IS PROVIDED ALONG WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT. HEALTH ALERT IS AN IN-HOME EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS CUSTOMERS TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR HOME WITH DIRECT ACCESS TO EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE.
