Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE HCBA IS TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF ITS MEMBERS BY ADVANCING PROFESSIONALISM, ETHICAL CONDUCT, DIVERSITY, COMPETENCE, PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT, AND COLLEGIALITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION. THE ASSOCIATION STRIVES TO ENSURE THE FAIRNESS (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)AND ACCESSIBILITY OF THE LEGAL SYSTEM, PROMOTES PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND CONFIDENCE IN OUR SYSTEM OF JUSTICE, AND WORKS WITH THE COURTS TO IMPROVE THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE.

THE HENNEPIN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION IS MINNESOTA'S LARGEST DISTRICT BAR ASSOCIATION AND HAS SERVED THE LEGAL PROFESSION AND COMMUNITY SINCE 1919. THE HCBA'S CURRENT MEMBERSHIP IS MADE UP OF OVER 8,100 ATTORNEYS, LAW STUDENTS, AND LEGAL PROFESSIONALS WHO EITHER WORK OR RESIDE IN HENNEPIN COUNTY. THE HCBA PROVIDES ITS MEMBERSHIP WITH PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AND PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS WORKS TO PROVIDE THE BROADER COMMUNITY WITH IMPROVED ACCESS TO JUSTICE CURRENT PROGRAMS. OFFERINGS INCLUDE - LAWYER REFERRAL AND INFORMATION SERVICE THAT ASSISTS OVER 10,000 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY, HELPING CONNECT THEM WITH ATTORNEYS AND OTHER RESOURCES THAT CAN PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO THEIR LEGAL PROBLEMS - COMMUNICATION PUBLICATIONS FOCUSING ON SUBSTANTIVE LAW ISSUES AND LEGAL NEWS - CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION (CLE) PROGRAMS MANY HOURS OF (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)FREE CLE FOR HCBA MEMBERS EACH YEAR - PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL COURTS TO OFFER THE PUBLIC GREATER ACCESS TO FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE - OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRO BONO WORK AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO LOCAL LEGAL SERVICES PROVIDERS - DIVERSITY INITIATIVES FOR THE LEGAL PROFESSION - ETHICS REVIEW PANEL- LEGAL FEE ARBITRATION PROGRAM - PUBLIC LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH SERVING TEENS AND ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY - NETWORKING AND SOCIAL EVENTS - ATTORNEY MENTORING PROGRAM - LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH COMMITTEES AND SECTIONS - RECOGNITION/AWARDS PROGRAMS TO HIGHLIGHT AND ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONALISM AND DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION.
