EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING IN THE PRINTMAKING ARTS: FOR ADULTS, YOUTH, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF ALL SKILL LEVELS. HP SERVED APPROX. 8,250 PEOPLE IN 2019, OF WHICH @5,400 WERE VISITORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18; 73% OF YOUTH CLASSES IN 2019 WERE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. HIGHPOINT'S PUBLIC PROGRAMS IN 2019 ALSO INCLUDED: THREE FREE INK DAYS WHICH SERVED 1,925 PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, WHO CAME TO MAKE PRINTS FOR FREE WITH ARTISTS; TOURS AND DEMONSTRATIONS FOR PEOPLE FROM 35 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS; AND 12 PRINT EXHIBITIONS IN HP'S GALLERIES, FEATURING FREE PUBLIC RECEPTIONS AND ARTIST TALKS.
A FULL-SERVICE ARTISTS COOPERATIVE ACCESS PROGRAM: HP PROVIDES UP TO 60 PRINTMAKERS ACCESS TO A PROFESSIONAL, FULLY EQUIPPED PRINTSHOP, WHERE THEY CREATE WORK AND RECEIVE TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE SUPPORT. THE ARTISTS RECEIVE 105 HOURS OF ACCESS PER WEEK TO THE PRINTMAKING FACILITY, INCLUDING SUPPORT FOR: INTAGLIO, LITHOGRAPHY, SCREEN PRINTING AND RELIEF PROCESSES. CO-OP ARTISTS ARE PROVIDED TWO GROUP EXHIBITIONS IN HP'S GALLERIES ANNUALLY AND RECEIVE 80% OF SALES PROCEEDS OF THEIR WORK.
THE VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM AT HIGHPOINT EDITIONS: THIS PROGRAM IS LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL IN SCOPE, THROUGH WHICH INVITED EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED ARTISTS CREATE ORIGINAL EDITIONS WITH THE GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT OF A MASTER PRINTER AND STAFF. PROCEEDS FROM SALES OF HP EDITIONS PROJECTS ARE SHARED BETWEEN THE ARTIST AND HIGHPOINT, SUPPORTING BOTH THE ARTIST'S TIME AND EXPERTISE INVESTMENT, AND HP'S PROGRAMS. FIVE VISITING ARTISTS WERE INVOLVED IN PROJECTS IN 2019.
