Organizations Filed Purposes: MINNESOTA CAMPUS COMPACT SUPPORTS CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND DEMOCRATIC RENEWAL THROUGH ITS DIVERSE NETWORK OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

"GRANTS PROGRAM" - MNCC, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CAMPUS ELECTION ENGAGEMENT PROJECT, HELPED INCREASE COLLEGE STUDENT VOTER TURN OUT IN THE LEAD UP TO THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION WITH STUDENT FELLOWS AWARDED TO 11 CAMPUSES. WE ALSO RECEIVED FUNDING FROM THE BUSH FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF THE BUSHCONNECT EVENT, WHICH WAS ULTIMATELY POSTPONED. "CIVIC LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES" - ELEVEN CAMPUSES PARTICIPATED IN THE CONSTITUTION DAY DIALOGUE INITIATIVE IN SEPTEMBER 2019, FOCUSED ON A SPECIAL GUIDE ON DIALOGUE ABOUT THE 2020 CENSUS, ""WE ALL COUNT, BUT WILL WE ALL BE COUNTED?"" IN FY20, WE DELIVERED FACULTY DEVELOPMENT ACROSS MINNESOTA TO INCREASE AND IMPROVE COMMUNITY-ENGAGED TEACHING, INCLUDING AN ENGAGED FACULTY INSTITUTE HOSTED AT HAMLINE UNIVERSITY DRAWING PARTICIPATION FROM 32 FACULTY AND STAFF ACROSS FOUR TWIN CITIES MEMBER CAMPUSES. COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE (COPS) SAW RECORD INTEREST FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, WITH SIX GROUPS CONNECTING 82 FACULTY, STAFF, AND PARTNERS FROM FOUR STATES FOR A YEAR OF DEEP, COHORTBASED COLLABORATIVE LEARNING. THANKS TO EIGHT OUTSTANDING COP COCHAIRS FROM MINNESOTA MEMBER CAMPUSES, PARTICIPANTS DEEPENED THEIRCAPACITY TO DEVELOP CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE PARTNERSHIPS, DO COMMUNITY ENGAGED RESEARCH, BUILD INCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS, EDUCATE CIVIC-MINDED GRADUATES, ENGAGE IN CRITICAL REFLECTIVE PRACTICE, AND MORE. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA OFFICE FOR PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT AND IOWA, ILLINOIS, AND WISCONSIN CAMPUS COMPACT MAKES THIS WORK POSSIBLE. "AMERICORPS PROGRAM" IN FY20, THE COLLEGE HEALTH CORPS VISTA PROGRAM ENROLLED 16 PARTICIPANTS SERVING FULL-TIME AT CAMPUS-COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SITES ADVANCING HEALTH CARE ACCESS AND HEALTH EDUCATION. IN THE PROGRAM YEAR ENDING IN JULY 2019, PARTICIPANTS HAVE BENEFITED THOUSANDS OF LOW-INCOME PEOPLE, INCLUDING 465 WHO PARTICIPATED IN HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS, 2,225 WHO RECEIVED HEALTHCARE ACCESS INFORMATION THROUGH OUTREACH INITIATIVES, AND 250 WHO RECEIVED EMERGENCY FOOD. PARTICIPANTS ALSO RECRUITED 383 VOLUNTEERS, WHO CONTRIBUTED 4,622 HOURS TO THESE EFFORTS, TRAINED 220 STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS, AND HELPED GENERATE $215,852 IN CASH RESOURCES AND $7,573 IN NON-CASH RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE PARTNERSHIPS. THESE AMERICORPS MEMBERS RECEIVE EDUCATION AWARDS TO USE TOWARDS EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES OR STUDENT LOANS, AS WELL AS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT FROM PEERS AND STAFF. THE PROGRAM HAS RECEIVED VERY POSITIVE EVALUATIONS BY PARTICIPANTS, SITE SUPERVISORS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS, WITH LARGE MAJORITIES REPORTING IMPROVED HEALTH KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIORS, AND OUTCOMES. IN JULY 2019, THE PROGRAM MERGED WITH IOWA CAMPUS COMPACT'S AMERICORPS VISTA PROJECT AND IS MANAGED THROUGH THE IOWA CAMPUS COMPACT FISCAL AGENT. "RECOGNITION PROGRAM" -TWENTY-SEVEN CAMPUSES PARTICIPATED IN THE PRESIDENTS' ENGAGED CAMPUS AWARDS THIS YEAR. THE AWARDS RECOGNIZE EXTRAORDINARY CIVIC AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT LEADERSHIP AMONG STUDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS FROM ALL CORNERS OF THE STATE.
