INDUSTRY & MEMBERSHIP PROMOTION:THE MINNESOTA RESORT & CAMPGROUND ASSOCIATION (MRCA) IS A RESPECTED AND INFLUENTIAL LEADER AND AN ADVOCATE FOR RESORT AND CAMPGROUND BUSINESSES IN MINNESOTA. THE MRCA STRIVES TO UNITE THE INTERESTS OF A DIVERSE MEMBERSHIP BY PROVIDING STRONG ADVOCACY, ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AND PROGRAMS WITH A STRONG RETURN ON INVESTMENT. THE MRCA CO-HOSTS AN ANNUAL HOSPITALITY & TOURISM DAY AT THE CAPITOL DURING EACH MINNESOTA LEGISLATIVE SESSION, PART OF ITS CONSTANT EFFORT TO GUIDE POLICY AND REGULATORY ISSUES ON THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERSHIP. IN 2017 THE MRCA INDUCTED TWELVE MINNESOTA RESORTS IN THE INAUGURAL YEAR OF ITS' CENTURY RESORTS & CAMPGROUND RECOGNITION PROGRAM. SINCE THEN THERE HAVE BEEN ANNUAL MEMBERS RECOGNIZED AND ADDED, HONORING RESORTS AND CAMPGROUND BUSINESSES THAT HAVE OPERATED 100+ YEARS IN MINNESOTA.
EDUCATION:THE ASSOCIATION CO-SPONSORS CLASSES FOR FOOD SAFETY TRAINING THROUGH THE NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION'S SERVSAFE FOOD PROTECTION MANAGER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND FOR THE RE-CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MINNESOTA FOOD MANAGER'S LICENSE. THE 2019 HOSPITALITY MINNESOTA CONFERENCE AND EXPO HAD 600 INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATE IN 10 SEMINARS ON VARIOUS HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TOPICS. THE MRCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AWARDED SIX SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $3,000 IN 2019 TO STUDENTS WITH A CONNECTION TO A MINNESOTA RESORT OR CAMPGROUND. THE 2019 MRCA FALL CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY ALMOST 100 OPERATORS AND FEATURED NUMEROUS SEMINARS ON INDUSTRY SPECIFIC TOPICS.
