NORTHERN CLAY CENTER'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE CERAMIC ARTS FOR ARTISTS, LEARNERS, AND THE COMMUNITY, THROUGH EDUCATION, EXHIBITIONS, AND ARTIST SERVICES. EDUCATION: CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, AND OUTREACH PROJECTS FOR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OFFER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISTS, STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. SERVED OVER 42,500 CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN 2019.
EXHIBITIONS PROMOTE PUBLIC APPRECIATION AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CERAMIC ARTS THROUGH DISPLAYS OF REGIONAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS' WORK. IN THE MONTH OF MARCH, NCC PRODUCED OR SUPPORTED EIGHT ADDITIONAL EXHIBITIONS FOR THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON EDUCATION FOR THE CERAMIC ARTS (NCECA) CONFERENCE HELD IN MINNEAPOLIS. IN TOTAL, THERE WERE AN ESTIMATED 80,000 VISITS TO THE CENTER FROM THE PUBLIC DURING 2019.
ARTIST SERVICES INCLUDE AFFORDABLE STUDIO SPACE, ACCESS TO SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES, EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, EXHIBITION AND SALES OPPORTUNITIES, INDIVIDUAL GRANTS AND A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK. SERVED 444 INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS IN MULTIPLE WAYS IN 2019.
