TO PROVIDE A TEMPORARY HOME OR HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS ALCOHOLIC AND ADDICT WITH A SINCERE DESIRE TO ARREST HIS DISEASE (ALCOHOLISM) TO RETURN TO A USEFUL LIFE, AND FIND CONTENTMENT IN SOBRIETY. THE HOME ENVIRONMENT WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED WITH COUNSELING, TEACHING, AND PRACTICING A PROGRAM OF GROUP THERAPY ON ALCOHOLISM, AND BY EXPLAINING IT THROUGH A MEDIUM OF INTERVIEWS, CLASSES, LECTURES, AND MEETINGS. ALSO TO PROMOTE THE PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND SPIRITUAL WELFARE OF THE ALCOHOLIC.

RESIDENTIAL:NUWAY RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS WERE THE FIRST IN THE NATION TO OFFER THE CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS PROGRAM "CDP". THE CDP WAS CREATED BY THE DARTMOUTH MEDICAL SCHOOL IN ASSOCIATION WITH HAZELDEN FOUNDATION. IT HAS SERVED AS A FOUNDATION FOR CONTINUED DELIVERY OF HIGH-QUALITY EVIDENCE BASED CO-OCCURRING CARE. NUWAY RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS PROVIDED 22,000 INDIVIDUALIZED LENGTH OF STAY PATIENT DAYS TO 650 CLIENTS WHICH INCLUDED: INDIVIDUALIZED COUNSELING, GROUP THERAPY, LECTURES AND DIDACTIC PRESENTATIONS, CO-OCCURRING PROGRAMMING, RELAPSE PREVENTION, COPING SKILLS, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, CONTINUED CARE AND CASE MANAGEMENT IN A STEP-DOWN MODEL THAT REINTEGRATED OUR CLIENTELE INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES.
OUTPATIENT:NUWAY OUTPATIENT COUNSELING CENTERS PROVIDE EVIDENCE BASED CO-OCCURRING CARE WITH A FOCUS ON UTILIZING COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO SUPPORT SUCCESSFUL LONG-TERM RECOVERY. A KEY FOCUS IS ADDRESSING THE CLINICAL NEED FOR A POSITIVE RECOVERY ENVIRONMENT AS IDENTIFIED IN THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ADDICTION MEDICINE (ASAM) CRITERIA THROUGH CLIENT CHOICE ACCESS TO INDEPENDENTLY RUN RECOVERY HOUSING DURING AND BEYOND THE TREATMENT EPISODE. NUWAY OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS PROVIDED 777,000 HOURS OF INDIVIDUALIZED LENGTH OF STAY INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT TO 3,500 CLIENTS.
