Organizations Filed Purposes: SONS OF NORWAY IS DEDICATED TO PRESERVING AND PROMOTING NORWEGIAN HERITAGE. THE LOCAL LODGES AND INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS WORK TO MEET CULTURAL, HERITAGE AND FINANCIAL NEEDS.

YOUTH: THIS PROGRAM SHARES THE CULTURAL RICHNESS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND GETS THEM INVOLVED AT A YOUNG AGE. THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO MAKE SONS OF NORWAY A PRIORITY IN OUR CHILDREN'S LIVES, AND THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS DEVELOPED WITHIN THE DISTRICT IT IS POSSIBLE TO SHARE WITH THEM THAT RICHNESS. PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2019: 1. BARNELOPETS-6; YOUTH 400 PARTICIPANTS. 2. DANCE PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS - 8 PROGRAMS - 160 YOUTH. 3. COMMUNITY FESTIVALS, E.G. PARADES, COMMUNITY FAIRS - 12 FESTIVALS - 156 YOUTHS. 4. YOUTH CHRISTMAS EVENTS - 12 DIFFERENT PROGRAMS - 130 PARTICIPANTS. 5. SNOW FESTS - 2 PROGRAMS - 85 PARTICIPANTS.

SOCIAL/CULTURAL: SOCIAL/CULTURAL PROGRAMMING IS PERHAPS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY SONS OF NORWAY MEETING. MEMBERS COME TO BE ENTERTAINED AND TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR CULTURE, THROUGH FUN AND ENTERTAINING PROGRAMS. THE HERITAGE PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT AT SONS OF NORWAY INTERNATIONAL PROVIDES A WIDE VARIETY OF SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS. PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2019: 1. THE WORK OF THE SOCIAL CULTURAL DIRECTOR LAST YEAR WAS TO CONTINUE THE LISTING OF ALL OF OUR CULTURAL PRESENTERS AVAILABLE TO LODGES AND BRING THEM UP TO DATE. THIS AFFECTED ALL LODGES IN THE DISTRICT. 2. DISPLAY AT COMMUNITY EVENTS - IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER SPONSORS - 8 EVENTS - 500 PEOPLE VIEWED THE DISPLAYS. 3. PRESENTATION OF CULTURAL SKILLS - THIS INCLUDED 3 EVENTS WITH 65 PARTICIPANTS.

SPORTS/RECREATION: THIS PROGRAM PLANS AND IMPLEMENTS A WELL-ROUNDED PROGRAM OF SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR BOTH YOUNG AND OLD, WITH THE HOPE OF ENHANCING THE PHYSICAL WELL BEING OF OUR MEMBERS. OUR DESIRE IS TO EXPAND THE KNOWLEDGE OF NORWEGIAN HERITAGE BY PLANNING EVENTS WITH A NORWEGIAN FLAVOR. SEVERAL DISTRICT-WIDE ACTIVITES WERE PLANNED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN; INCLUDING: 1. BARNELOPETS - 6 EVENTS WITH 400 PARTICIPANTS. 2. BIKING EVENTS - 3 EVENTS - 7 RIDERS - SPONSORED BIKE RIDE TO PROMOTE FITNESS. 3. VIKING GAMES - 2 EVENTS - 95 PARTICIPANTS.
