Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO CHANGE THE FACE AND VOICE OF THE MARKETING INDUSTRY.
INTERNSHIP - THIS YEAR THE BRANDLAB (TBL) REACHED ANOTHER MAJOR MILESTONE. WE LAUNCHED IN A THIRD MARKET THROUGH A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH A LIKE MINDED ORGANIZATION CALLED CHICAGO SCHOLARS. THIS ADDITION ALLOWED US TO GROW OUR REACH AND CREATE A BIGGER IMPACT. TODAY, BETWEEN THREE MARKETS, WE INTRODUCED OVER 1000 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO THE IDEA OF A CREATIVE CAREER AND WE WERE ON TRACK TO PLACE 100 STUDENTS INTO PAID INTERNSHIPS. THEN COVID 19 STRUCK AND WE, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD, WENT VIRTUAL. BUT WE DID NOT CANCEL OUR PROGRAMS. WE QUICKLY PIVOTED AND PROVIDED 78 PAID INTERNSHIPS FOR YOUNG ADULTS FROM MINNEAPOLIS, CHICAGO, AND KANSAS CITY. WE ASKED ALL OF OUR PARTNERS TO MOVE THEIR DONATIONS FROM HAVING AN INTERN IN THEIR ORGANIZATION TO TRUSTING THE BRANDLAB STAFF TO LEAD SMALL COHORTS OF INTERNS. WE MATCHED AN AGENCY TO A CLIENT AND EVERY INTERN FROM SUMMER OF 2020 WORKED ON A REAL BUSINESS CHALLENGE. OUR AGENCY PARTNERS SERVED AS COCOLLABOARATER AND TEACHERS TO OUR INTERNS AND THE CLIENTS WERE JUST THAT, CLIENTS. THEY CRITIQUED WORK AND PUSHED OUR INTERNS TO DO MORE. THEY DELIVERED! WE CONSISTENTLY USE DATA TO MEASURE OUR IMPACT AND INFORM OUR PROGRAMS TO MAKE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS. IN SUMMER OF 2020, EVEN IN A VIRTUAL SETTING, OUR INTERNS SAID, - 100% FEEL THEIR IDEAS WERE VALUED - 83% FEEL THEY'VE ATTAINED SKILLS NEEDED TO DO WELL- 60% FEEL THEY MADE A CONNECTION IN THE MARKETING INDUSTRY THAT THEY WILL UTILIZE IN THE FUTURE- 55% SAY THEY'VE MADE 2+ NEW FRIENDS- 95% PLANNING TO PURSUE A DEGREE IN A MARKETING RELATED FIELD
CONNECT - IN OUR CONNECT PROGRAM THIS YEAR ALONE WE MADE 32 MENTOR MENTEE MATCHES REACHING 170 TOTAL. CONNECT WAS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR PLACING 3 APPRENTICES INTO 6 MONTH WORKING OPPORTUNITIES THAT WILL HOPEFULLY LEAD TO FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT IN 2022. THREE NEW IN HOUSE PROJECTS HAVE COME ALLOWING THE BRANDLAB CONNECT PROGRAM TO HIRE 18 YOUNG PEOPLE FOR PART TIME EMPLOYMENT THAT IS FULL OF SKILL BUILDING AND ENSURING WE CONTINUE TO BUILD 21ST CENTURY SKILLS FOR OUR TALENTED YOUTH. FINALLY A FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM WAS LAUNCHED. WE ARE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF PLANNING BUT 4 CORPORATIONS ARE COMMITTED AND WE WILL BE HIRING 18 YOUNG PEOPLE FOR AN 8 MONTH LEARNING WORK EXPERIENCE.
FEARLESS - IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG CREATIVE ADULTS WE WORK WITH THE INDUSTRY TO ENSURE WORKPLACES ARE FREE OF BIAS. LAST YEAR ALONE IN OUR FEARLESS WORK WE GUIDED OVER 3000 ADULTS IN CONVERSATIONS ON RACE AND CLASS TO ENSURE WORKPLACE CULTURE IS INCLUSIVE TO ENSURE ALL PEOPLE THRIVE.
