VRJ'S ANALYSIS REVEALS THE IMPACT OF POLICIES ON ISSUES FROM EDUCATION TO HEALTH CARE TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE ON COMMUNITIES OF COLOR, AND PROVIDES ALTERNATIVE, EQUITY-GROUNDED STRATEGIES. ORGANIZING TRAINING: VOICES FOR RACIAL JUSTICE HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR ITS RACIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZING TRAINING FOR 25 YEARS. VRJ CONTINUES TO WORK WITH ITS COHORTS IN GREATER MINNESOTA WORTHINGTON, AND VRJ IS IN THE SECOND YEAR LEADING EDUCATION PARENT COHORTS IN COMMUNITIES IN MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL, WITH THE GOAL OF BUILDING SUSTAINABLE ORGANIZING AND LEADERSHIP CAPACITY GROUNDED IN THOSE COMMUNITIES. IN ADDITION, VRJ HAS A FORTHCOMING TRAIN THE TRAINER TOOLKIT THAT BRINGS AN ARTS AND CULTURE LENS TO THE ORGANIZING TRAINING. VRJ ALSO PROVIDES ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES TO ORGANIZATIONS. PRISON JUSTICE: VRJ WORKS WITH COMMUNITIES IMPACTED BY THE SYSTEM OF MASS INCARCERATION TO ADVOCATE FOR CHANGE IN PRISONS AND IN THE CULTURE OF CRIMINALIZING ENTIRE COMMUNIITES. VRJ IS BUILDING NETWORKS OF FORMERLY INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES OF INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS, AND CURRENTLY INCARCERATED PEOPLE WHO WORK TOGETHER TO CHANGE THE NARRATIVE ABOUT WHO IS IN PRISON AND WHAT INCARCERATION IS DOING TO OUR COMMUNITIES.
