To engage people in protecting and improving the water quality and natural systems of the Cannon River Watershed.
We partner with people and organizations to value, protect, and improve the Cannon River Watershed's land and water.
Wastewater -The Wastewater Initiative Program through a regional effort throughout Southeast Minnesota to assist small communities in improving their sewage treatment. Since 2002, the wastewater initiative has helped twenty nine small communities upgrade their sewer systems, eliminating 360,040 gallons of untreated sewage per day.
Conservation. The Conservation Program has worked to increase adoption of soil health practices, with particular emphasis on cover crops across the entire Cannon River Watershed. This program aims to improve the health of impaired streams and lakes by working with farmers and landowners to implement targeted conservation practices.
Community Engagement. The organization offers a variety of events for people in the Cannon River Watershed to have opportunities to learn about, connect with, and care for the water.
