THIS PURPOSE IS CARRIED OUT THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, TALKS, CLASSES AND INFORMATION SERVICES.
THE ROCHESTER ART CENTER SHOWCASES ABOUT TWELVE EXHIBITIONS YEAR-ROUND, HIGHLIGHTING THE VITAL RELATIONSHIP OF THE ARTS TO OUR DAILY LIVES. THE MAJORITY OF OUR EXHIBITIONS ARE ORGANIZED BY ART CENTER STAFF, BRINGING ORIGINAL CONTENT AND CONTEMPORARY TRENDS TO THE FOREFRONT.
THE ROCHESTER ART CENTER HAS MAINTAINED ITS ORIGINAL FOCUS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL PEOPLE TO KNOW, PRACTICE AND ENJOY THE ARTS THROUGH ITS ROBUST SCHEDULE OF WORKSHOPS WITH QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS, ARTIST TALKS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS, SCHOLARLY LECTURES, GUIDED TOURS, PRESENTATIONS, COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, PUBLICATIONS AND INFORMATION SERVICES. ALL OF THESE ENDEAVORS ARE PERFORMED ON A NONPROFIT BASIS, SOLELY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, OFTEN IN COLLABORATION WITH OTHER AREA NONPROFITS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES.
THE ROCHESTER ART CENTER MAINTAINS A RETAIL SPACE WHERE LOCAL, REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS ARE INVITED TO CONSIGN THEIR ARTWORKS AS MEMBERS OF THE ART CENTER. THE SHOP IS INTENDED TO ENHANCE VISITOR EXPERIENCE AND APPRECIATION OF THE ARTS, AND PROVIDE ARTISTS A PLATFORM TO SELL THEIR WORK.
