Organizations Filed Purposes:
FairVote Minnesota Foundation promotes better democracy through improving the voting system. We provide research and education about the effects our voting system has on the quality of democracy and advocate for Ranked Choice voting or other systems that promote greater competition, participation, majority rule, and proportional representation.

Education -- Provided direct voter education to ensure successful Ranked Choice Voting outcomes in the 2017 Minneapolis and St. Paul elections, reaching more than 42,000 voters directly and additional 400,000 indirectly though presentations, and traditional and social media. The efforts included targeted outreach in Somali, Latino and African American communities in partnership with organizations in those communities. Developed and conducted RCV training for candidates and campaigns running in 2017. Established a national model for training candidates on how to campaign under RCV. Mades presentations to dozens of community organizations in the Twin Cities on Ranked Choice Voting. Hosted the 3rd annual Best of the Wurst Festival in partnership with Sociable Cider Werks.
Outreach -- Consulted with a variety of cities and states across the country to share RCV best practices. Met with dozens of community and elected leaders to explore the potential of Ranked Choice Voting in their communities. Sponsored information booths at large Twin Cites and statewide events, including May Day Minneapolis, Twin Cities Pride and the Minnesota State Fair. Worked with party convention leaders to use RCV for political party endorsements. Recruited more than 100 volunteers for the 2017 education campaign. Hosted year-end award ceremony to recognize volunteer efforts. Total monthly social media reach of more than 30,000 people.
