PUBLIC PROGRAMS & GIBBS FARM: 50 HISTORY REVEALED PROGRAMS WERE HELD, INCLUDING SEVERAL ALL DIGITAL PROGRAMS FOLLOWING THE ONSET OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THESE PROGRAMS REACHED MORE THAN 10,000 INDIVIDUALS. AT GIBBS FARM, THE 2019 HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL DREW A RECORD OF 800+ GUESTS AND FALL 2019 SCHOOL TOUR PROGRAMS OPERATED AT CAPACITY. THE ONSET OF COVID-19 RESULTED IN THE SUSPENSION OF THE SCHOOL TOUR AND SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS IN 2020, RESULTING IN A RAPID PIVOT TO CREATION OF DIGITAL CONTENT THAT IS BEING USED BY EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN DISTANCE LEARNING ACTIVITIES. A 3D TOUR OF THE GIBBS FARMHOUSE WAS COMPLETED AND IS AVAILABLE ONLINE. RCHS ALSO CREATED THE FIRST YEAR-ROUND EDUCATION SPACE AT GIBBS FARM BY COMPLETELY RENOVATING THE RED BARN.

COLLECTIONS PRESERVATION & EXHIBITS: RCHS SERVED 1,439 RESEARCHERS THROUGH ITS MARY LIVINGSTON GRIGGS & MARY GRIGGS BURKE RESEARCH CENTER. AN ADDITIONAL 15,616 IMAGES WERE MADE AVAILABLE ONLINE. THIRTY-SIX DONORS CONTRIBUTED MATERIALS TO THE RCHS COLLECTIONS. RCHS SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETED ITS WORK ON THE COUNCIL CHAMBER ART PROJECT, ADDED FOUR NEW PIECES OF ART BY REGIONAL ARTISTS TO THIS HISTORIC SPACE. PLANNED AND A SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF PRODUCTION WAS COMPLETED FOR THE PERSISTENCE: CONTINUING THE STRUGGLE FOR SUFFRAGE AND EQUALITY, 1848-2020 WAS COMPLETED. RCHS ALSO IS PARTICIPATING IN COMMUNITY EFFORTS TO DOCUMENT AND PRESERVE PROTEST ART FOLLOWING THE KILLING OF MR. GEORGE FLOYD IN MINNEAPOLIS.

MAGAZINE AND PUBLICATIONS: RCHS PUBLISHED FOUR NEW ISSUES OF RAMSEY COUNTY HISTORY MAGAZINE, FEATURING A DOZEN NEW ARTICLES. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE THE CENTENNIAL OF THE STIRLING CLUB, AND AFRICAN AMERICAN SOCIAL CLUB THAT MOBILIZED AGAINST DISCRIMINATION; A REINTRODUCTION TO THREE LOCAL JEWISH WRITERS THAT WERE HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL AROUND THE COUNTRY; A GRAPHIC NOVEL FEATURE ILLUSTRATING THE HISTORIES OF YOUNG AUTHORS AND ARTISTS FROM MINNESOTA'S ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER COMMUNITIES; A HISTORY OF THE RECENTLY CLOSED BOYS TOTEM TOWN; AND AN ARTICLE ON SUMMER CAMP FOR MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN AT LOUIS W. HILL'S NORTH OAKS FARM. RAMSEY COUNTY HISTORY WRITER DIANE TROUT-OERTEL WON THE MINNESOTA CHAPTER OF THE SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIANS DAVID STANLEY GEBHARD AWARD FOR HER ARTICLE "EMMA F.
