GREAT FUTURES START HERE: THE MISSION OF THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB IS TO INSPIRE AND ENABLE ALL YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO NEED US MOST, TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE, RESPONSIBLE, CARING CITIZENS. THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB PROVIDES A LINEUP OF MORE THAN 25 TESTED AND PROVEN, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS TODAY'S MOST PRESSING YOUTH ISSUES, TEACHING YOUNG PEOPLE THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED IN LIFE. THESE PROGRAMS EXIST WITHIN THE FIVE CORE AREAS, INCLUDING: CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT; EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT; HEALTH AND LIFE SKILLS; THE ARTS; AND SPORTS, FITNESS AND RECREATION.IN 2019, WE SERVED 6,460 REGISTERED MEMBERS. THE AVERAGE DAILY ATTENDANCE (ADA) WAS 1,601 DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AND 1,073 DURING THE SUMMER. THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE YOUTH SERVED THROUGHOUT 2019 ARE AS FOLLOWS: 32% AFRICAN AMERICAN; 1% ASIAN, 6% HISPANIC, 8% MULTI-RACIAL, 1% NATIVE AMERICAN AND 52% CAUCASIAN.

KIDSTOP:THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB'S KIDSTOP SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED FOR K-6 IN 14 AREA SCHOOLS IN THE SARTELL-ST. STEPHEN AND SAUK RAPIDS-RICE SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THE PROGRAM ENSURES THAT PARTICIPATING CHILDREN ARE IN A SAFE PLACE WITH PROFESSIONAL, CARING STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. KIDSTOP PROVIDES KIDS WITH TESTED AND PROVEN BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB PROGRAMS THAT PARENTS KNOW ARE VITAL FOR THEIR CHILD'S HEALTHY GROWTH. IN 2019, WE SERVED 3,672 REGISTERED KIDSTOP MEMBERS WITH AN AVERAGE DAILY ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 1,168 YOUTH. WE PROVIDED $215,724 IN SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH THE CLUB AND UNITED WAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND. COUNTY CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE PROVIDED AN ADDITIONAL $336,098.
UNITS:THE SOUTHSIDE, EASTSIDE AND ROOSEVELT BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB UNITS ARE DEDICATED YOUTH FACILITIES OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB TO SERVE YOUTH AGES 5-18 FROM SCHOOL DISMISSAL UNTIL 8 P.M. FOR KIDS IN GRADES K - 6TH AND UNTIL 9 P.M. FOR TEENS IN GRADES 7 - 12TH MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. OUR MISSION IS TO ENABLE ALL YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO NEED US MOST, TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE, CARING, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. WE ACHIEVE THIS BY PROVIDING YOUTH WITH A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT; FUN ACTIVITIES; POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEERS AND ADULTS; INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN AND DEVELOP; AND RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENTS. IN 2019, WE SERVED A TOTAL OF 2,788 REGISTERED MEMBERS AT THE UNITS. BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB STAFF ALSO PREPARE AND SERVE A DAILY SNACK AND NUTRITIOUS MEAL PROVIDED IN PART BY SECOND HARVEST HEARTLAND FOOD BANK AND JENNIE-O. THIS MEAL PROGRAM IS CRITICAL TO THE CHILDREN WE SERVE, AS 95% OF OUR REGISTERED MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FREE OR REDUCED SCHOOL LUNCH. IN 2019, WE SERVED A TOTAL OF 69,950 MEALS, 40,275 SNACKS AND 110,2254 CARTONS OF MILK AT OUR UNITS. CLEARLY, THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB IS MORE RELEVANT AND NECESSARY NOW MORE THAN EVER FOR OUR COMMUNITY'S YOUNG PEOPLE. BY PROVIDING CARING ADULT STAFF AND A SAFE, POSITIVE PLACE WHERE KIDS DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM AND THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED, THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB IS CHANGING LIVES AND IMPROVING THE LANDSCAPE OF AMERICA'S FUTURE.
