HELPING NEW AMERICANS ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND FULL MEMBERSHIP IN AMERICAN LIFE BY OFFERING SERVICES TO PROMOTE THEIR FULL INTEGRATION INTO THE COMMUNITY INCLUDING RESETTLEMENT, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT TRAINING, AND CROSS-CULTURAL INITIATIVES.
EDUCATION: REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS ARE ARRIVING WITH A MORE DIVERSE RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT AND EMPLOYMENT THAN EVER BEFORE IN US HISTORY. THE INSTITUTE OFFERS ENGLISH CLASSES, RANGING FROM PRE-LITERATE THROUGH COLLEGE PREPARATION AND SUPPORT, AND THEREFORE, IS IDEALLY SITUATED TO SUPPORT NEW AMERICANS AT EVERY SKILL LEVEL. NEW AMERICANS ARRIVE IN THE COMMUNITY WITH A WEALTH OF TALENT, POTENTIAL, AND AMBITION. IN COLLABORATION WITH EMPLOYER PARTNERS, THE INSTITUTE HAS DEVELOPED TRAINING PROGRAMS AND CAREER PATHWAYS THAT MATCH THE TALENT OF NEW AMERICANS WITH THE NEEDS OF LOCAL EMPLOYERS. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS IN THE CAREER PATHWAYS RECIEVE FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION AND FINANCIAL COACHING. THE INSTITUTE IS TRAINING THE NEW AMERICANS WORKFORCE AND IS A NATIONAL MODEL FOR SUCCESS.
REFUGEE SERVICES: REFUGEES SPEND AN AVERAGE OF 17 YEARS IN CAMPS BEFORE ARRIVING IN THE UNITED STATES. AFTER DECADES OF WAITING, REFUGEES ARRIVE EAGER TO START THEIR NEW LIVES. THE INSTITUTE HAS ENHANCED THE CORE REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM WITH ADDITIONAL SERVICES TO ENSURE THAT EACH REFUGEE SUPPORTED BY THE INSTITUTE BEGINS WITH A STRONG START TO A NEW LIFE. THE INSTITUTE ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE WITH IMMIGRATION AND CITIZENSHIP PROCEDURES TO OFFER SAFETY, SECURITY, AND BELONGING TO NEW AMERICANS IN THE COMMUNITY.
