Organizations Filed Purposes:
The League of Women Voters Minnesota is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to civic engagement. Membership is open to all genders ages 16 and up. Through our partnership with LWV United States and 35 local Leagues located in communities across the State of Minnesota, we encourage informed and active participation in government, register and inform voters, educate the community through civic events and candidate forums, work to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy. LWV Minnesota is considered a good government organization, and our 2,010+ members work throughout the year to educate, advocate and empower our communities to be informed citizens and to act to fulfill our Program for Action, which outlines key positions on issues such as voting rights, immigration reform, environmental preservation, public education, health care and election laws.

LWV Minnesota works to empower voters through our nonpartisan Voter Service programs, including voter registration, candidate forums, and issue education. We also work to defend democracy through our Program for Action and issue advocacy at the local and state levels. LWVMN has also initiated a 5-part series of activities to commemorate the upcoming centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. This will include a Traveling Historical Exhibit that will be available across the state of Minnesota, a fundraising gala, and an exhibit at the MN History Center.
