THESE SERVICES ARE ACCESSED THROUGH COMMUNITY LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTERS CALLED 2ND HALF WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN.LOCATED IN THE EAST METRO, 2ND HALF WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTERS CONNECT ADULTS AGES 50 AND OLDER TO COMMUNITY SERVICES, RESOURCES, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. OFFERINGS FOCUS ON EDUCATION AND THE ARTS; HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND SPIRITUALITY; SOCIAL AND OUTINGS; RESOURCES AND SUPPORT; AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES. ONE CENTER IS HOSTED ON THE LYNGBLOMSTEN CAMPUS IN THE COMO PARK NEIGHBORHOOD OF ST. PAUL, AND A SECOND IS HOSTED AT REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WHITE BEAR LAKE.A TOTAL OF 1,174 PERSONS WERE SERVED THROUGH 2ND HALF WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN THROUGH OUTINGS/TRIPS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, CLASSES, FINE ARTS EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS, WELLNESS-RELATED SUPPORT, CAREGIVER SERVICES, AND MORE. THE PARISH NURSE MINISTRY RESOURCE GROUP PROVIDED EDUCATION AND SUPPORT TO NURSES FROM SEVERAL MEMBER FAITH COMMUNITIES. ONE CONGREGATION RECEIVED A GRANT (THROUGH THE LYNGBLOMSTEN FOUNDATION) TO ENHANCE ITS CURRENT PROGRAM.CAREGIVER SERVICES DIRECTLY SERVED 317 PERSONS THROUGH: THE GATHERING, A GROUP RESPITE PROGRAM FOR PERSONS LIVING WITH MEMORY LOSS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS; SUPPORT GROUPS FOR CAREGIVERS; ONE-ON-ONE CAREGIVER COACHING; AND A CAREGIVER RESOURCE-AND-REFERRAL PROGRAM. MORE THAN 166 PERSONS VOLUNTEERED WITH THE GATHERING OR AS SUPPORT GROUP LEADERS.UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA RESEARCHER EMERITUS DR. LESLIE GRANT CONDUCTED RESEARCH TO STUDY WHAT IMPACT 2ND HALF WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN WAS HAVING FOR ITS PARTICIPANTS. THE STUDY SHOWS HOW GREATER PARTICIPATION IN 2ND HALF WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN PROGRAMS ENHANCES AGING EXPERIENCES AMONG PARTICIPANTS. MORE FAVORABLE AGING EXPERIENCES ARE FOUND IN FOUR KEY AREAS:(1) ENGAGEMENT WITH LIFE, (2) SOCIAL CONNECTEDNESS, (3) LIVING WELL IN ONE'S NEIGHBORHOOD, AND(4) HEALTHY AGING. A WHITE PAPER ABOUT THE STUDY WILL BE RELEASED IN 2020.LYNGBLOMSTEN HOME HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED IN-HOME HEALTH AND ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES TO 143 PERSONS LIVING IN LYNGBLOMSTEN HOUSING IN 2019. COMPANION CAREAN AFFORDABLE SERVICE TO HELP LYNGBLOMSTEN HOUSING TENANTS CONTINUE LIVING IN THEIR OWN APARTMENTSPROVIDES COMFORT, SECURITY, AND COMPANIONSHIP FOR TENANTS DURING THEIR MOST STRESSFUL TIMES OF THE DAY. COLLABORATION AND WELL-COORDINATED SERVICE WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN'S TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT (TCU) AT THE LYNGBLOMSTEN CARE CENTER HELPS TENANTS USING THE TCU TRANSITION SMOOTHLY BACK TO THEIR HOMES. LYNGBLOMSTEN SERVICES, INC., IS AFFILIATED WITH LYNGBLOMSTEN AND THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN AMERICA.
