2018 SPRING CONFERENCE: MOLN'S EDUCATIONAL EVENT THAT PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE TRAINED IN LEADERSHIP SKILLS. THE CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE MAY 3-4. THERE WERE 272 REGISTERED ATTENDEES, 35 EXHIBITORS, 5 GENERAL SESSIONS AND 4 PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS. 7.9 AMERICAN NURSES CREDENTIALING CENTER CREDITS WERE OFFERED AND 1 MN BOARD OF NURSING CONTACT HOUR.
2018 MINNESOTA NURSING PUBLIC POLICY NURSING INTERNSHIP: OBJECTIVES OF PROGRAM: TO LEARN WHY NURSES NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC POLICY/ TO DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE PUBLIC POLICY PROCESS, TO IDENTIFY TECHNIQUES TO ADVANCE LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AT THE GRASSROOTS LEVEL; TO DEVELOP SKILLS FOR CONTACTING LEGISLATORS; AND TESTIFYING AT A LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE HEARING AND MEDIA MESSAGING. THE MINNESOTA NURSING PUBLIC POLICY NURSING INTERNSHIP TOOK PLACE NOV. 5-6. THERE WERE 32 REGISTERED ATTENDEES AND STUDENTS. 9.25 CONTACT HOURS WERE OFFERED.

ADDITIONALLY, IT HELPED IDENTIFY CURRENT TRENDS IN HEALTH CARE AFFECTING NURSE LEADERS AND PROVIDE RESOURCES TO INSPIRE CHANGE TO RESPOND TO THOSE CURRENT TRENDS. THE CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE OCT. 18-19. THERE WERE 244 REGISTERED ATTENDEES, 34 EXHIBITORS, 7 GENERAL SESSIONS AND 7 PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS. 9.7 AMERICAN NURSES CREDENTIALING CENTER CREDITS WERE OFFERED.
