The Recycling Association of Minnesota (RAM) is committed to increasing recycling in Minnesota to improve the social and economic health of our citizens, businesses, institutions and future generations
Promote resource conservation through recycling, composting, reuse & waste reduction in Minnesota
Webinar Series: Due to Covid-19, RAM partnered with two other organizations (SWANA and SWAA) to host a webinar series in lieu of the annual RAM/SWANA Conference. The series consisted of 10, 90-minute webinars on the topics of organics, solid waste, recycling, best management practices, technologies and innovations. Over the course of the 10 webinars, 189 people registered and participated. Educational certificates were provided to attendees.
Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Sales: Provided rain barrels, compost bins and kitchen pails to residents of Minnesota with some government sponsored subsidies available.
Agricultural Plastic/Boat Wrap Recycling: Using monies received from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, RAM wrapped up the current grant activities in May 2020. The final activities consisted of hosting stakeholder meetings and conducting public outreach to inform and educate Minnesotans on the increasing opportunities for recycling this type of material. RAM developed marketing materials and other free resources for partners to use across the state, and also set up funds to help decrease the cost of tip-fees for recycling this material.
