THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY FOUNDATION SEEKS TO ACCUMULATE FUNDS THROUGH CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND GRANTS SUCH FUNDS FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY CLUB.

SOME OF THOSE PROGRAMS ARE DESCRIBED BELOW:DICTIONARY PROGRAM - THE ROTARY CLUB DONATED DICTIONARIES TO EVERY THIRD GRADE STUDENT IN THE SAINT PAUL PUBLIC SCHOOLS.ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE - EXPOSURE TO DIFFERENT CULTURES RANKS AS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WAYS TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING AND PEACE. THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY CLUB PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR ONE OR MORE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET PEOPLE FROM SAINT PAUL AND TO EXPERIENCE MINNESOTA CULTURE, PLANTING THE SEEDS FOR A LIFETIME OF INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING. WORLD COMMUNITY SERVICE: THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY CLUB MAKES GRANTS TO FUND INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS APPROVED BY THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION.
THE SECOND CENTURY SCHOLARSHIP FUND WAS CREATED IN 2010 TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF FORMATION OF THE TENTH ROTARY CLUB IN THE WORLD IN ST. PAUL, MN. CLUB MEMBERS AND FRIENDS PROVIDED FUNDS TO CREATE A $465,000 FUND TO CHANGE THE LIFE OF ONE ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT EVERY YEAR WITH A $20,000, FOUR YEAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP. STUDENTS ARE RECOMMENDED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL AND MUST APPLY THROUGH SCHOLARSHIP AMERICA, THE LEADING SCHOLARSHIP MANAGEMENT FIRM IN THE UNITED STATES. SCHOLARSHIP AMERICA EVALUATES ALL APPLICANTS AND SELECTS THE WINNER BASED ON ESTABLISHED CRITERIA. APPLICANTS MUST: BE A CURRENT SENIOR AT A ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL, HAVE PARTICIPATED IN CAMP RYLA (ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS), PLAN TO ENROLL FULL-TIME IN AN ACCREDITED POSTSECONDARY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY, AND HAVE A MINIMUM GPA OF 3.0 ON A 4.0 SCALE. SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $35,000 WERE PROVIDED TO 4 STUDENTS DURING THE YEAR.
THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY FOUNDATION MADE A GRANT TO THE RONDO PROJECT OF $50,000. THE RONDO PROJECT IS A LAND BRIDGE TO RECONNECT A NEIGHBORHOOD IN SAINT PAUL AFTER INTERSTATE 94 WENT THROUGH THE HISTORIC RONDO DISTRICT. THE BRIDGE AIMS TO BRING BACK RONDO'S HISTORY AS A VIBRANT AFRICAN-AMERICAN NEIGHBORHOOD AFTER THE INTERSTATE DISPLACED MORE THAN 600 FAMILIES DECADES AGO. POTENTIAL USES FOR THE LAND CREATED BY THE BRIDGE ARE HOUSING, COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL.
