Organizations Filed Purposes: WE STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY BY EDUCATION AND EMPOWERING YOUTH TO REALIZE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.

TENNIS - IN 2019 SAINT PAUL URBAN TENNIS PROVIDED PROGRAMMING TO MORE THAN 2,500 YOUTH ACROSS 25 SITES IN SAINT PAUL. WE HIRED OVER 80 COACHES TO SERVE IN OUR PROGRAM. THESE COACHES ARE PREDOMINANTLY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS. WE OFFERED OUR USUAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO MANY FAMILIES NO QUESTIONS ASKED. OF THE 2,500 YOUTH SERVED, APPROXIMATELY 1,200 WERE OUTREACH PROGRAMS SPANNING ACROSS RECREATION CENTERS IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENINGS TO PROVIDE MORE OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OF THE MORNING TIME AS SOME FAMILIES ARE NOT AVAILABLE THEN. WE ALSO PILOTED A FREE TENNIS CAMP THAT COMBINES TENNIS, MATH, READING AND WRITING ACTIVITIES.

WARRIOR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY - WE EXPANDED OUR WARRIOR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY IN 2019 TO INCLUDE 75 TOTAL YOUTH, AN INCREASE OF 10 YOUTH. THESE 75 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN 15 TENNIS TRAINING SESSIONS OVER 15 SATURDAYS IN THE WINTER. THEY ALSO VOLUNTEERED AT LEAST 25 HOURS EACH DURING THAT TIME AND PARTICIPATED IN OVER 5 WORKSHOPS THAT INCLUDE: RESUME WRITING, CAREER NETWORKING, FINANCIAL LITERACY, PUBLIC SPEAKING AND CAREER EXPLORATION.

EMPLOYMENT PLUS - IN 2019 WE INCREASED OUR EMPLOYMENT PLUS PROGRAM FROM 5 YOUTH IN 2018 TO 10 YOUTH. THIS PROGRAM IS GEARED TOWARDS LOW-INCOME YOUTH OF COLOR WHO RESIDE ON THE EAST SIDE OF SAINT PAUL. THESE YOUTH SPEND AN AVERAGE OF 5 HOURS A WEEK WITH STAFF ASSISTING IN PROGRAM DELIVERY, FACILITY MAINTENANCE, AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS. THEY ALSO DO EMPLOYER AND COLLEGE VISITS WITH OUR STAFF. 100% OF THE ELIGIBLE GRADUATING YOUTH WENT ON TO ATTEND COLLEGE.
