TIWAHE IS A RESOURCE FOR GIVING AND BUILDING CAPACITY OF AMERICAN INDIAN INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY THROUGH SMALL GRANTS AND LEADERSHIP EFFORTS.
AMERICAN INDIAN FAMILY EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FUND (AIFEP): The Tiwahe Foundation's AIFEP grant making program granted $75,686 to 32 Indian individuals working toward educational achievement, economic self-sufficiency and preserving and renewing cultural connections. Our grants range from $1,800-$2,500. The final reports submitted by grantees are the basis of our evaluation and the success of individuals achieving self-identified goals and accomplishments. Giving back to the community is deeply connected to the grantees successes.
OYATE NETWORK GRANTS: The Tiwahe Foundation Native Leadership Oyate Network is building a collaborative to connect alumni leaders that have participated across various leadership programs. This network is building a bridge between rural, tribal and urban American Indian leadership alumni that will bring cross collaboration, innovation, healthy communities and sustainable change. The Network trainings helped over 6 Alumni projects in their community totaling $18,000 in project grants.
