THE MINNESOTA AGRICULTURAL INTERPRETIVE CENTER (MAIC) WAS CREATED BY THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE IN 1978 AS AN EDUCATIONAL ENTITY INTENDED TO PRESERVE THE RICH AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE STATE AND THE PROMISE THAT AGRICULTURE HOLDS FOR THE FUTURE. MAIC IS A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP WITH FACILITIES ON 360 ACRES OF PRIME PRAIRIE LAND NEAR WASECA IN SOUTH-CENTRAL MINNESOTA. THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT IRS 501 (C) (3) CORPORATION IS GOVERNED BY AN ELECTED 9-15 MEMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS. BOARD MEMBERS SERVE WITHOUT PAY FOR NO MORE THAN A MAXIMUM OF THREE, THREE-YEAR OVERLAPPING TERMS. THE BOARD EMPLOYS A SMALL STAFF AND ASSISTS IN DEVELOPING ITS PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES AND IN ENGAGING VOLUNTEERS TO ACHIEVE ITS OBJECTIVES. MAIC DOES BUSINESS (DBA) AND IS REFERRED TO AS FARMAMERICA THROUGHOUT THIS DOCUMENT. VALUES STATEMENTS:1. FARMAMERICA VALUES THE HERITAGE, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF MINNESOTA AGRICULTURE.
