ASC's mission is to produce bold, re-imagined, entertaining and accessible interpretations of classical works, contemporary plays, and musicals with a core commitment to the works of Shakespeare and other major dramatists. Annapolis Shakespeare Company presented nine (9) professional productions over the course of the year including 5 on the Main Stage, 2 outdoor, 2 as part of our Broadway Series, and 10 in our Cabaret series. Each Main Stage production ran 4-6 weeks in length, the Broadway Series had a 2 week run each and the Cabarets were single events bringing the combined number of public performances for the year to about 170 live performances.
Annapolis Shakespeare Company presented educational matinees of our Main Stage productions to student groups with accompanying workshops and post-show discussions with the professional actors. ASC educational initiatives serves students in grades 6-12 in the MD/DC region, primarily serving public schools in Anne Arundel County, MD (ASC's home county).
